I've had other mechanical timers like this of various brands and sizes, and this time I almost went with a digital model because of the subtle but very annoying hum that comes with these things . I needed a timer for my succulents and orchids that could fit in a small space on my wall to plug in my grounded light box. It worked great! It's thin, so I was able to plug it into an outlet that sits flush with the wall. This timer is grounded so you will need a 3 pin socket to plug it in. It also accepts a grounded plug.
