I really wanted this product to work for me but due to the unpleasant chemical smell and the sticky film covering the wood I had to return it. The first thing I noticed when it arrived was that some of the paint was peeling off. It's okay, I thought, and went to rinse and clean it thoroughly. I've had 37 Betta pools and the only problem I had was 2 of them suddenly just sank to the bottom. and the steam sinks below the water level, making one of its purposes of keeping floating food useless. I gave it 5 stars because all my bettas LOVE their floating logs, a few rough and sanded but most of them are smooth and water will soften the edges as well. Perfect size for chickens. He uses it to just relax and be alone. He's become more active since I put this in his tank. He loves to. You can put it in a tank as small as 2 1/2 gallons and it will have plenty of room to swim. There is a feeding hole at the top that you can throw food in and it goes straight into the login to eat. As soon as I put them in the tanks, the guys immediately went to them. I have a boy who has a strong desire to protect the nest. I turn off the pumps at night so they can sleep in still water.
