Bearded people love it - terrarium bedding, sand and substrate

I use these chips as substrate for my bearded dragons. I first looked for sani chips but this seems to be the same thing. I used two bags to fill my 55g tank which gave me about a 4-5 inch layer. My bearded lady is already happily digging in half her body.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Doubts

WORKS WELL! Best in Bedding

Product works well. I would say it reminds me of wood sand texture but obviously more than sand lol. It seems good for digging, but as for tunnels, I don't know how they will do in that regard. I prefer Aspen for this, or maybe make a mix.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Too bad for lizards, they'll eat and choke on it

I bought this based on a positive magazine article about bluetongue bedding. Plugged it in, came back after a while and my BTS stood by the glass and shook his head back and forth. He was covered in this bedding and when I pulled him out and dried him I found that he had a big mouth and was choking and choking on it. It's not exactly sawdust, much coarser, but too fine for my baby. Definitely not a purchase recommendation.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • old

smells good, looks good

I use this material for my corn snake. It clumps perfectly, almost no dust, easy to clean and scoop, smells nice, looks beautiful, and allows for easy humidity control. I can hold 50-60% with no problems. The only problem is that the shavings tend to land everywhere, sticking to fabrics, hides, and mouse skins. It also seems quite difficult to break through, but I haven't tried it myself. I like to change up the substrate from time to time just to keep the snake interested and I think these…

Great product, best on reptiles and amphibians

I have a bearded dragon and have had it for a little over a year. I used the felt liner that came with the terrarium, which does the job well, but I wanted something more natural. There is much controversy about adding loose substrate to a bearded dragon enclosure as most of them have the potential to crush the dragon. After careful research I came across a very detailed article on bearded dragon subtraction and this product was highly recommended to me. My bearded dragon has had it in her…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Easy to repair
