Easy to use, no experience required!

Very easy to use and accurate. My chain was worn out, I changed it. The bike (Giant Sedona 3X7 gears) shifts much better with the new chain.

Pros
  • A worn chain will shift poorly and wear out the sprockets faster.
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Durable Bike Tool

This is a solid tool that does what it's supposed to do. I expect it to last me a lifetime. Again, I've never seen a poorly made chain wear indicator. You should probably just buy the cheapest you can find, and that might very well be.

Pros
  • Size: Overall Length: Approx. 140.5mm Width: Approx. 47mm
Cons
  • Empty

Optimal Use of the Right Tool in the Sport

Basic Info: For 1-10 speed chains, use .75 and 1.0 tools. For chains over 10 speeds, use a different tool: .5 and . 75. You can also use a ruler to measure the distance from the center of the limb to the center of the limb at a distance of 12 inches. At 10 speeds or less, if stretched more than 1/8 inch, consider replacing chain.

Pros
  • Material: Carbon Steel
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Chain wear indicator works great

This chain wear tool works great. I first tried this on my main bike after my LBS told me it was wearing out. The tool showed 1% wear. I then tried it on my second bike that had 1700 miles on it and the tool showed 75% wear. Finally I tried it on a vintage Schwinn with a new chain and the tool showed no wear. Very happy with this tool!

Pros
  • Compatible with all chains.
Cons
  • Quality
