Totally worthless

Pure rubbish. It's well built, but it won't pull cork. The notch geometry is cut in such a way that it does not rest on the bottle neck. This makes it unusable. How does a corkscrew with such an obvious design flaw get into production?

Pros
  • Home & Kitchen
Cons
  • Weight

I like it best in Waiter Corkscrew

Always need a two stage corkscrew. This is well made and strong. There are only 2 minuses: 1) The first step often slips off the bottleneck. There has to be another angle, I think. 2) If the second stage were articulated, the first stage would not have crashed into the plug during final pullout.

Cons

I like the waiter's corkscrew

I always need a corkscrew with two stages. This is well made and strong. There are only 2 minuses: 1) The first step often slips off the bottleneck. There has to be another angle, I think. 2) If the second stage were articulated, the first stage would not have crashed into the plug during final pullout.

Pros
  • Bar and wine cutlery
Cons
  • Small change

Great waiter's knife!

I have several waiter's knives but this is the best. It is very durable and easy to use. It feels very heavy and the stainless steel makes it very attractive. The foil knife is quite sharp. The two stage lifter is great for pulling out the cork with a wonderful pop at the end. It's a little more expensive than my other waiter's knives, but I think it's worth the extra cost.

Pros
  • Kitchen and dining room
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Very good sharp edges

I'm a sommelier in a New York restaurant. I opened hundreds of bottles a week. This is one of the best wine keys I've ever used, with one caveat: the edges are very sharp. Brushed stainless steel is a beautiful corkscrew, but the angular lines that make it so aesthetically interesting also create edges that can tear both clothing and, to a lesser extent, skin. However, the foil knife is long and sharp (which is often overlooked) and the key is easy cork removal. Overall worth a few bucks more…

Pros
  • Corkscrew and bottle opener
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other pickaxes
