Review on Monerujo by Olugbenga Ajayi

The security of Monerujo is disturbing

Monerujo wallet is an open source, HD and non custodial wallet for the safe keep of your XMR. The wallet was developed by Monero community experts and it is a leading wallet for keeping their altcoins.

I love the fact that it supports multiple accounts and doesn't limit numbers of wallet addresses that can be created.

The wallet is created for use by both advanced users and beginners. The app is very easy to download and setup. No KYC is required and altogether there is no ambiguity on the app usage or operations. All operations can be carried out with a simple step. Another thing is that no Exchange is needed to make XMR-BTC payment.

While I applaud the wallet for ease of use, an aspect I find disturbing about Monerujo wallet is the security feature. In an era where hackers have several software to attack, it is unheard of that a wallet will use only password to keep users fund. No 2FA or other multifactor security features for Monerujo wallet.

Pros
  • It is an HD wallet so each time a transaction is initiated a blind public address is generated to mask the real address from hackers
  • It has QR scanning features for ease of payment
  • The app is easy to use and navigate
  • It supports multiple accounts and wallet addresses
  • It is light weight so it doesn't overburden your system resources
  • Users have their private keys in their custody
Cons
  • It is an Android only wallet
  • The security features are not strong enough to guarantee protection against hackers activities
