Review on ๐Ÿšฐ Lumax LX-1344 Black Hand Transfer Pump: Efficient Fluid Transfer Solution for Non-Corrosive Liquids and Oil Drainage by Jake Meyer

Waste of time and money, poor design and manufacture

Bought this pump to move water. Very disappointed and will not be using the pump. On the first try he immediately gave a leak in the suction and discharge lines on the pump side. The design includes washers inside and outside the port fittings where they attach to the end of the pump. It was mounted with both washers on the outside. This is what caused this leak. Unfortunately, the piston seal is also leaking. This causes water to seep into the pump handle side of the piston, which then flows out of the housing through the piston handle rod. You will be in trouble if you use this flammable liquid pump. The check valve springs and check balls in the pressure and suction lines are made of unalloyed steel. They immediately started rusting on the unit I bought during the time I was trying to troubleshoot and fix leaks. I expect these valves will fail fairly quickly. Knowing that poor material selection is a critical component, I would expect the pump cylinder itself to also rust quickly and further damage the piston seal. I'll never know because I can't use this pump for its intended purpose where it leaks over the piston. I would say that this pump is only suitable for pumping air.
