Also my favorite sanding block

I, like Howard Rush, consider it my favorite sanding block. I have one that I've had for at least a decade and when I went back to the Big Orange store to buy another one I found all they had were blocks of rubber. I bought three of these. They are ok, albeit heavy, and I keep pinching my fingers when I insert sandpaper. I found them at Revain today so I bought two more. Now I have a finished block with different grits that I use in my projects. My only modification is to apply some…

3M Sanding Block on Sanding Blocks

As other reviews have stated, this sanding block is practically not recommended. It's made of lightweight plastic, relies on four small plastic pins to hold the unit together during use, and is in no way contoured to fit the hand. I've found that the block doesn't stay together unless I glue it on. Connection on both sides of the block (adhesive tape). It's too easy, too immaterial to do any serious work, requiring too much energy and attention to do a good job. Maybe for modelers, but I don't…

Incredibly light, easy-to-load and durable flat grindstone.

I have been using one of these blocks for 15 years and repainting (in my spare time) an old boat. Love this block and glad to see it's still available so bought 2 more. I use this block to prepare different wood surfaces for painting and then between coats to make the finish smoother and more even with each coat close. This requires a rigid flat block.
