Fits my Trane 6 ton variable speed compressor

My Trane AC compressor is 34 x 37 and about 48 inches tall. This coverage isn't high enough but that's ok as it fits on top and offers good coverage for the money, about 2/3 of the device. The next alternative was several times more expensive than this one, so I decided to try it first. It would be nice if they made a slightly larger square cover that was a bit longer, but for now that will have to do.

Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

good budget coverage in the parts and accessories section

Yes, this item is made of canvas material. Yes, belts are not secure enough without other straps or belts. yes downstairs is open Yes, it's made big. However, I was aware of this when I bought it. I had already planned elastic cords and a garbage bag (for the floor) for the winter months. I don't think it's advisable to leave the lid on when operating/using the air conditioner, but I'm no expert. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget!

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not bad

Attention: can be emptied easily.

Works pretty well and keeps out drafts from the large air conditioner that we can't get out the window in winter. However, the rubber bands that attached the cover to the air conditioner were not strong enough, so it ripped off in strong winds. I ended up having to glue the cover to the air conditioner to keep it in place all winter and it worked really well. The cap size was pretty good for the device after the first measurement and seemed to be as advertised.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

VERY, VERY BIG for 5000 BTU AIR.

What the heck! I almost always leave good reviews. This case had to be small, around 5000 to 6000 BTU AC. This case says it's good for 10000 BTU. that's twice as much as 5000 BTU. There is a lack of insulation. The material is like a thin canvas. I really had to use a cardboard box. There's so much extra plastic in there that it has to be glued somewhere. It looks horrible. It works horribly and is way overpriced for what I got. I suggest you make your own.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Modern

Great product, easy to install.

We always took out the window block in autumn but it's so heavy and then you have to store it somewhere and it's dirty and water drips from it onto the carpet etc. So this year I decided to do it instead to cover it up. I figured I'd freeze to death on a windy sub-zero night before cover came. But after putting it on and covering the inside of the device, my apartment stays warm even in a cold New England winter! It was easy to install and held up well even in some very windy storms.

What I like and don't like.

I liked the size the most, it fits my condenser perfectly. I live in Southern California so winters are not severe here. Rain is the only problem and sometimes we pray for it. My only issue is that the cover lasts one winter and then has to be replaced for the next winter. The material does not withstand rain well, especially when it constantly drips from the roof during and after bad weather. Therefore, a replacement is required after one season. Thank goodness the price isn't prohibitive, so…

Another use for duct tape

I change air conditioner covers every fall as I find they get rough after a season (city life). By no means are the dimensions exactly the same as mine - through the wall - air conditioners, so I've gotten a bit adept at folding them and (hopefully) gluing them securely to a brick wall. The included strap is "decorative" but serves no useful purpose. The bottom of the air conditioner is not covered as hoped, but between the fold and the tape they protect my air conditioner. It may not help to…

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for hold and durability
