Failed within a week. - Ball joints

Ordered 4 pieces (2 identical machines). 3 came from Taiwan and 1 from Argentina. Strange, but still. Well I've driven a car 200 miles and already have play in a ball joint. Not sure which country of origin failed. Fur.

Pros
  • Excellent price
Cons
  • Expensive

READ THIS!: Ball Joints

You need a press and a grinder to take out the pins, forget the hammer, you will hurt yourself and your control arm. Lay the control arm face down on the bench and grind the rivets from that side (bottom). If you don't you won't be able to push them out, you'll break the control lever before you push them out.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • I have no bad feelings about this, everything is fine

it fits well and replaces a broken ball joint

i fitted new wishbones to a ford focus just before last winter (2011). In spring 2012 I hit a huge pothole and destroyed this ball joint! I bought this to replace the ball joint but had to take the entire control arm out so the old ball joint rivets could be ground, knocked out and replaced. Buying a new control arm would save some work. but it did what was expected. In any case, it's probably a better ball joint than the carrier's joint in control arms.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • so far so good
