Description of AISIN TKF-004 Engine Timing Belt Kit with Upgraded Water Pump

AISIN's Water Pump/Timing Belt Service Kit is the common-sense combo as these components should always be replaced at the same time regardless of which component needs replacement. The work involved in replacing one of these components is about the same as replacing all of them - save yourself time and money in the long run by replacing all components at the same time. AISIN's kit includes OE matched components, just like the ones your vehicle left the assembly line with - no generic parts here, just the brand names you know and trust - AISIN, Mitsuboshi, Toyo, NTN, and more. AISIN is the #1 OE manufacturer of water pumps in the world; each pump features an advanced diecast aluminum housing and premium internal components with carbon ceramic seals for superior durability. Kit includes OE matched components: Water Pump, Timing Belt, Tensioner, Idler Pulleys, Gasket, Seal, Installation Instructions, and more - all packed in one convenient box, ready to install. Compatible with select vehicles (verify specific fitment details with fit checker above): SAAB: 2006 9-2X; SUBARU: 2004-06 Baja, 2004-07 Forester, 2002-12 Impreza, 2005-09 Legacy, 2005-09 Outback.

Made in Japan! fits belt

Great set. Everything was made in Japan. It's been on my old GT for 2000 miles. So far there are no problems. The water pump seal was metal, so that's a plus. We recommend. Good markings on the timing belt. (Does not come with spark plugs or thermostat shown)

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Good but not great

All high quality Japanese components!

After Gates started using cheaper Chinese sloths I was looking for a quality replacement. All components were manufactured by Japanese automotive suppliers. Excellent price and quality. I've used Aisin kits on several builds and they work great.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Available in white only

Excellent kit for Subaru Outback XT 2008

All parts are Japanese except the belt which is made in Thailand. This kit fits my 2008 Subaru Outback XT perfectly. The water pump is the same as the OEM except Aisin stands. Just slip it on today so only time will tell how it holds up. At this point I would buy it again based on the OEM parts and the price.

Pros
  • Nicely
Cons
  • No form required

Excellent timing kit with Japanese parts.

Great suggestion, I've just installed and started the engine but the pulleys and belt seem to be of good quality. Good markings and smooth bearings. Couldn't ask for more. The water pump is in good condition but without a thermostat. (Buy the OEM anyway) Edit - One month later update: Still solid and calm with 2500 miles on parts already.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Some issues

Would buy again!

I can't say anything about the durability of this kit as I only installed it for a short time, but overall the accuracy of fit and the quality of the parts are second to none. I was specifically looking for this kit instead of the Gates kit as Aisin ships their parts from Japan except for the strap made in Thailand which is good quality anyway. I changed the timing belt myself on a 2006 Wrx wagon and didn't have a major headache. Even if the engine is left in the car, all you have to do is…

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • This is driving me crazy

Aisin is way better than Gates kit. Possibly comparable to OEM.

I used this kit to replace the timing belt on a 2005 Subaru Outback 2.5XT Limited 5 speed manual transmission. This is the correct setting for my car. It replaces the Gates aftermarket timing belt kit. Overall this is a better kit than the Gates kit in my opinion. I am very happy with this kit and really glad I saved a few hundred to get it instead of the original Subaru kit for hundreds more. I purchased an OEM Subaru thermostat that included a replacement thermostat gasket, but the quality of

Large Water Pump/Timing Kit

This kit is all high quality Japanese parts, except for the timing belt which is a Mitsubishi product. I've been a long time fan of Gates as they have always offered great quality belts but can no longer recommend them due to the declining quality of the timing kits they offer. Chinese bearings can be of high quality, but. Other Thoughts: This kit doesn't include the "game knife" found in Gates kits (it's only used on MT vehicles) so you'll need to measure the clearance yourself. I used an…
