This gas cap helped me turn off the check engine light. It installed just as easily as the factory unit it replaced and cost less than the dealer.

My check engine light came on because of my gas cap or something so I bought this as a spare to see if the light goes out. 10/10, no light, easy to install.

Installed on my Highlander after one of the kids left the gas cap at the gas station I notice the CEL for the vaporizer system has been turned on. Fit a new tethered gas cap and reset the CEL and we were spot on.

I have code p0456 on my 2011 Tacoma and it ended up being a cover; This cheaper cover didn't solve the problem. it's still leaking and the code has reappeared. I used a smoke machine to check where the leak was coming from.

Bought because the old cap no longer seals well and the engine light comes on. This worked for a few days but the light came back on. Toyota service looked for any codes that indicated the new cap wasn't sealing well enough, so they replaced it with a genuine Toyota cap and the problem was fixed. Returned.

One morning the warning lights on my 2005 GX470 dashboard came on. After having this happen a few years ago, I knew it was probably the gas cap and needed a new one (to get rid of the lights and let the California smog through). Replaced the gas cap with it and the lights went out after 50 miles. The smog will be gone in a few weeks so it's doing what it's supposed to do.

Unfortunately someone stole my factory gas cap while I was parked in Philadelphia. Bought as a quick replacement. After 3 months my Check Engine and Trac Off light came on. Reset the battery by disconnecting the positive terminal for 20 minutes. 2 days later the light came on again. The Toyota dealer checked the codes and got P0456. Replaced it with a Toyota brand gas cap and had no problems. Spend a little more money and buy a brand name.
