READ THE ONE STAR REVIEW BEFORE YOU BUY!

WiFi/Ethernet connection drops twice a day. This happens to many Revain buyers. Please read all one star reviews. It could have happened to you. Tried hard reset, turned off Wifi6, changed frequency band, turned off NAS, tech support. Nothing helps. SW does not support user upgrade. I'm going back to Netgear.

Pros
  • Suitable for many people
Cons
  • Some problems

Requires constant reboots

I keep losing my ethernet and wireless internet connection. Restarting seems to be the solution, but for now it has to be done twice a day. It's time to return. I cannot recommend this ethernet cable modem/wireless router. Very disappointing considering the price. This is Revain's most expensive modem router, but it doesn't live up to its price tag.

Pros
  • Good build
Cons
  • No

Great product, worth every dollar

Much better than a cheap spectrum modem. Wi-Fi 6 integration is the best. And the interface for the modem/router bundle is as minimal as possible.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • old

Asus software and support sucks

This is the top Asus modem and router combo BUT it doesn't work with Asus AiMesh AND no app support (doesn't work with current Asus router applications). I contacted support and they said they have no plans to let the Asus app control the CMAX6000 in the future. It looks like Asus has lost its game to compete with Netgear in client UI/UX.

Pros
  • Great
Cons
  • Almost OK

Much better than xfinity to rent

If you work from home and have a family this is the place. The immediate dynamic is amazing. I upgraded for the zoom classes my daughter needed and the wifi still sucked. Now that I have this modem, everything works faster. The wife can work, the child can watch smart TVs and tablets. Then I can transfer everything. now i want a ps5 lol

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

may not be the right router if you want to use mesh routers

This is the latest DOCSIS standard so I bought it. It had decent speeds for what my ISP advertises, and dual-band for Wi-Fi transfers is fine. However, I found that this router does not have a bridge mode, which is recommended when upgrading to a mesh router system. Rather than having this router "compete" with the mesh, your mesh's instructions will tell you to put the original router in bridge mode so that all signals work together. I used to be a grid skeptic, but now I'm a convert. Since I…

An ideal modem for saving when renting through a provider.

In general, the modem setup was relatively easy and without problems. The only snag I had was registering with my ISP, but that's more of an issue with them than an issue with the modem itself. Surprisingly, it looks like they didn't list it, but it's a DOCSIS 3.1 - and 3.0 modem, so it's backward compatible if needed. Thanks for that because it was necessary as my ISP says it uses 3.1 but is actually using 3.0 DOCSIS. Wi-Fi range is also acceptable, I can go anywhere in the house (about 1600…
