Seems to increase reception range

Seems to improve reception in unauthorized areas when using my radio as an EMS scanner. Haven't tested transmission at any distance yet.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Coefficient set

Increase the range of your radio

The antennas that come with most radios work, but not very well. This new antenna extends the range of 4W and 5W radios. Good price for a big range improvement. I will order a second one.

Pros
  • Radio Antennas
Cons
  • Without Instructions

Economy version

This antenna works well. I use it for GMRS 462/467MHz. It doesn't perform as well as the Nagoya 771g, which is specifically tuned to 462MHz but costs a lot less. I had to grind about 1.5mm off the end of the SMA antenna connector to make it work better with a certain cheap radio, but that could be a problem with the radio, not the antenna. The antenna worked perfectly both before and after looping it on a different brand radio.

Pros
  • antennas
Cons
  • minus available
