I am compelled to write this review now after being very happy with the product for more than two years because it was a NIGHTMARE to remove. The product essentially broke when trying to remove it, leaving sticky adhesive and black paint on the window. It took hours to rub down with denatured alcohol to remove, but black paint bled onto the lower sill and surrounding frame. I used this film to temporarily cover 2 skylights in my bedroom and 1 window in my bathroom. We are renovating and the sun was too hot upstairs to work. We have outside temperatures well in excess of 100* and this idea was our hope of finding a simple means of lowering the inside temperature upstairs. I was a little concerned as several reviews here say it is see through or doesn't hold up well. Well, these reviews are nonsense. Either they're lying or they didn't bother to use it properly. It takes some effort to apply. They're not kidding when they say to soak both the window and the film. If this is not done, the film will stick to the window like adhesive tape.
