Excellent knife, best at woodworking

I carve spoons and bowls and sell them at the local farmer's market. Most of my Mora knives. But I bought this one and wow it's as good as my bog pine for half the price. I left out two spoons and can't complain. Comfortable, razor-sharp handle. I will buy another. On Instagram @whidbeyhandcarved

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • No craftsmanship

Perfect. I expected to have to refine the

great. I was expecting to have to refine this, but I shaved, leaving a fairly bald spot on my arm. I've used it on some unidentified greenwood, walnut and balsa, the only thing I've had trouble with is cutting across the grain of the walnut. Several hits on my fine-grained stone while working left it very sharp.

Pros
  • great for me
Cons
  • for a long time

good sloyd knife - wood carving tools

very good knife. I am currently using it for rough cuts. The only problem, and it's minor, is that the oak handle will stain your hands after a few hours of use. Not really a problem but thought I'd mention it. I'll be buying at least one more so obviously it's not a big deal. (edited to include a photo of the first project cut with a knife)

Pros
  • finally bought
Cons
  • not as thick as other picks

But nice and sharp.

This is a very cheap woodcarving knife so it will be a problem. None of this is serious, but you should know before you buy that the handle is very rough and needs sharpening, the blade is sharp and holds up well for more than enough use, but cheap and doesn't look very good; It's good. All in all this is a great knife but if this is your first knife be aware that it is better than the price suggests and also takes some work to make it great.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Only available in black

Sharp enough to do whatever I need to do

I'm fairly new to carving but after trying it with a regular pocket knife I realized I could never do anything with a blade this dull would carve recognizable. I ordered it because the reviews were good and the price was right. This knife is SHARP and I've got bloody fingers to prove it! I wish there was some sort of sheath for it rather than the paper sleeve it came with so I'll make my own sheath but that's the only complaint and it's a minor one.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • too blunt

Awesome Knife!: Woodcrafts

I received this order before I became a fan of Beaver Craft, I was looking for knives with a good grind for carving. I used to use pocket knives or homemade carving knives. I finally settled on the price and the reviews were good. The knife arrived and I was very pleased with the quality, the blade was very good and required minimal cleaning and maintenance to maintain an extremely sharp blade that is easy to maintain. Highly recommended!

Pros
  • Whittling Knife Ergonomic Handle: The handle is made of solid oak and protected with natural linseed oil. The design of the handle allows for long, comfortable cutting without hand fatigue.
Cons
  • Legacy Model

Better than expected.

It's larger and has a better grip than I expected. But what impressed me the most was that actually just a few puffs across my belt really got it razor sharp. Most companies ship it with a coarse sharpness, which may be fine for most people, but I like my knives to not only be sharp but also glide smoothly over wood. 1-2 minutes with a sling and that's it. Great purchase and I will look for this company in the future. Hi my name is Dan and I'm a knife addict, I have 2 to 3 SOTs and I'm still…

Pros
  • Sloyd knife for general carving: This tool will become an indispensable helper in your work as the pointed tip helps with details and the rounded blade allows you to make cuts.
Cons
  • Out of style

It's a $12 knife, but it still shouldn't have a crack.

Edited to add that the seller replaced the item with reasonable satisfaction. They immediately sent a new knife after seeing mine cracked. I read reviews that said they received knives with rust. When I received mine I examined it carefully. What I noticed is that it is sharp, the handle feels comfortable, and the shank is slightly twisted in the knife. A slight twist was not enough to affect the carving. After a week of carving softwood (pine), I noticed that a crack was forming on the cutting

Pros
  • Carbon Steel Wood Carving Blades: The razor is made of carbon steel and hardened to the required strength. Our wood carving tools are sharpened and polished so you can use them right away.
Cons
  • Dear
