Locking mechanism is trash.

Not bad for a hobbyist, but if you plan on using these all the time, spend the money on snap-on or matco. I have broke two 1/4" ratchets and two 3/8 ratchet locking mechanisms after using them a couple times. I have yet to break the half inch however, if the locking mechanisms were to be upgraded I'd give these a 5/5 for being a great value.

Pros
  • The ratchets have a long handle for improved leverage
Cons
  • The ratchets may be difficult to use with gloves on

What? Broken already?

the 3/8 drive ratchet did not last 2 months! Broken already. the part that switches the gears back and forth kept reversing itself automatically, then finally broke. The other two, I have not used much, so still waiting for them to break.

Pros
  • Very satisfied... :)
Cons
  • The case may not have enough space for additional sockets

Good value for the ocassional mechanic

This is a really nice set to have in your garage. I like to do my own repairs and having the right tools will help make things go a lot smoother. I have several other gear wrench tools and they all perform well. I like to add to my collection when the price point is favorable and this set was a good value.

Pros
  • The set allows for quick and efficient repairs
Cons
  • The set may not be suitable for use with electronic devices

Doesn’t look brand new and head moves around too much

First thing when I opened up the box, the wrenches looked used. I’ve used it working in my suspension and so far they’ve been pretty great. Except the fact that the head always bends whenever I’m trying to tighten a bolt and it can get annoying. You can also pinch yourself trying to take a socket out so be careful. Other than the head always moving around the set is great!

Pros
  • The set includes both deep and shallow sockets for increased versatility
Cons
  • Some reviewers report that the ratchets are too loud

Pleasure to use - my new review

I think they feel great in the hand. I was worried that the handle might feel small in my hand, but I don't notice it. The click locking of the head angle is nice. Holds it in place nicely. The only drawback I can find is - they occasionally feel too long. Because I'm working on the ground or jack stands I sometimes get in my own way :-)

Pros
  • The ratchets have a 84-tooth count for improved precision
Cons
  • The ratchets may not be suitable for use with power tools

Very good ratchets worth every penny

These are do nice. They are quality built and the handle length makes the 1/2 drive ratchet break loose bolts with ease. They ratchet well and the flex head seems to lock into postion good so you don't get the floopy head problem that makes you throw the ratchet across the shop. Overall, I am very happy with these.

Pros
  • Wow! These wrenches are fantastic. They're smooth and very solid. These are my favorite ratchets now.
Cons
  • Some users report that the 1/2" drive ratchet does not fit well on some sockets

Work Great best in my review

Use these everyday for work and love them. Just wish they had a locking flex head, but other than that great product for the price.

Pros
  • Flex head and locking flex head styles provide adjustable access angle
Cons
  • The set may not include all the sizes users need

Don’t like locking head but still good

Strong but it’s floppy unlike a normal flex head when it’s not locked, I just don’t prefer the locking head but if you do it’s great,I don’t think it will break easily, comparable sized head to a snap on but is thinner like a Matco

Pros
  • Awesome , 84 tooth makes a big difference.
Cons
  • The set may be too big for storage in smaller toolboxes

Great purchase, love seeing them in my box

After using these ratchets for multiple jobs I must say I’m extremely content with my purchase, I try to purchase tools that have cases to keep my tool box organized so this caught my eye, each ratchet works well, low profile head gets in tight areas, and they feel nice in my hands, I without question consider these to be on par with my snap on units and I purchased all four for less than the price of one new case-less ratchet off the truck!

Pros
  • 84 Tooth gear delivers a 4.3° swing arc to turn a fastener in tight confines
Cons
  • The set may not include deep sockets

Solid choice. Reliable and good leverage

The ratchets have a little more play in the joints then a snap on or matco. I beat on my gearwrench all day in a shop and my co-worker breaks his matco all the time. The matco equivalent is a very nice ratchet just cost $190 for the 3/8 only. Just get 2 sets if you do not want down time. The matco truck where I work will take care of both tools warranties. Dealers choice. matco little more price little more comfort. gearwrench a lot less cost and I love mine sometime I use the weight of the…

Pros
  • The set is easy to carry around for on-the-go repairs
Cons
  • The set may not include a locking extension

Great Ratchets (just need a quick release)

I’ve had them for a few weeks now. They work great, the heads move but don’t flop around thanks the the ball bearing detent. My only gripe is the the lack of a quick release but that’s evident when you buy them so I won’t deduct for that. For the deal I got I’ll live with that missing.

Pros
  • The set has a well-organized layout for efficient access to tools
Cons
  • The set may not include a swivel extension

Nice quality, work as expected.

These appear to be good quality, and the fine gear ratio ratchet really does help in tight spaces. The pivoting ratchet head also makes these easy to get into tight spaces. I have used these several time on cars and motorcycles and they have exceeded my expectations.

Pros
  • These turned out to be a great addition to my tool box.
Cons
  • The set may be too heavy for some users

Great tools on my review.

I have used these tools for the past 2 years and have had a great experience with them, I already bought another set for my personal use

Pros
  • The set has a compact size for easy storage in toolboxes
Cons
  • The set may not include a sliding T-handle

Perfect high end ratchets at sweet price point.

I’m a DIY mechanic, and I wanted something with the quality of Snapon, but at a non-ridiculous price. I was tired of Husky and Craftsman garbage from local hardware stores. These nailed it. The turning action is incredibly smooth. The fed/rev switch works every time. The weight and quality is just right. My friend with all the pro tools was annoyed with how good these were, especially the large 1/2” ratchet. It took the axle nut off my minivan without the usual need for a breaker bar.The flex…

Pros
  • The ratchets have a slim nose for improved accessibility
Cons
  • Some users report that the ratchets are difficult to switch between sizes

Junk… Dont waste your money…

Bought these bc the reviews were great. 2 things…. That I didnt like…. 1 MAJOR ONE IS THAT IT DOES NOT STAY LOCKED WHEN YOU LOCK IT… when you start wrenching they become unlocked… 🤦‍♂️… the locking mechanism is at the most inconvenient spot which prevents you from getting into tight spaces and you end up "hitting” the switch and unlocking them by accident…. Total waste… bit the bullet and bought the snap on…. Best decision i ever made…

Pros
  • The slim design allows for use in tight spaces
Cons
  • The ratchets may be prone to slipping when used with oily hands

Top quality - my new review

Top quality as expected from Gearwrench. The flex head can be useful in some cases but will definately not replace you standard ratchets. In some situations, I found that the flex pivot seemed more of nuisance than an asset. However, in tight spaces where just can't get the right angle with your standard ratchet, these flex heads are critical.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • The ratchets may not be suitable for use in cold temperatures

Where is the foam tray?

Just ratchets in bags… there were clear photos of them being in a foam tray when I bought them on cyber Monday. There isn’t even a plastic tray. Bought the set specifically bc they came with the organizational tray… I’m a Porsche & Audi technician by trade, bought these for the home garage. Would have never bought these specific ratchets if it weren’t for that foam tray. Otherwise they’re mediocre ratchets with a pointless not so mini 3/8” drive ratchet and a not so long 1/2” drive ratchet.

Pros
  • I like this set it is worth money you pay for . I will buy again
Cons
  • Some users have reported that the ratchets do not hold the socket securely

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great ratchets good for me

These are very good ratchets. I am a tech at a dealership and use them every day. Compared to the same type of snap on ratchet they seem to be the same quality. And NO THEY DO NOT CHANGE DIRECTION ON THERE OWN. They only change direction the you accidentally bump the switch with your thumb or hand just like any other ratchet.

Pros
  • The ratchets have a reversible mechanism for added convenience
Cons
  • Some users report that the case does not stay closed

They are ok - my new review

I’m a professional mechanic and I bought this set for a new guy who wouldn’t keep his Peter beaters off of my Snap On ratchets. They work smoothly for the most part. The 1/2 drive ratchet, when using a moderate amount of force the pawl slips. If your a DYI type of person these would be great for you, as a professional who depends on my tools I would give them a hard pass.

Pros
  • The set includes a variety of drive sizes for different tasks
Cons
  • The set may not include a coupler adapter

A good buy: my feedback

I mainly purchased this for the 1/2" ratchet, but (at the time) this set was about the same price and I heard the 84 tooth ratchets are pretty reliable. Also, the other ratchets are nice, and good quality as well. In between hardware store and tool truck prices, but worth what you spend on them. I'm a forklift mechanic, and I can tell you they are durable for sure. I accidentally left my 1/2" ratchet underneath the truck and ran it over. No damage, not even a scratch. My oil filter claw on the…

Pros
  • The ratchets are made from high-quality materials for durability
Cons
  • Some users report that the sockets are not marked with the size
