Broke after 1 project.

The ratchet jammed and stopped working in both directions after just a few uses. Initially I was happy with the performance, but after about 15 screws it just jammed and stopped working. I returned it.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Almost OK

How is this Made in China wrench different from the $7.99 wrench?

Craftsman's tools - now made in China. But the same price (of course). Who kept all the money left over from cheap labor? We can all either ignore it or move on to products and companies that don't.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Available in white only

BROKEN AFTER 3 USES, CHEAP CHINA, FAKE! NO REFUND!

YOU SERIOUSLY YOU SEND ME THIS SHIT AND WON'T EVEN REPLACE OR REFUND IT. I HAVE USED THIS RATCHET 3 TIMES AND THE MECHANISMS ARE NOW LOCKED. I BOUGHT IT ABOUT 5 WEEKS AGO, BEWARE OF THIS SIGN. SELLING THIS SHIT TO SOMEBODY SHOULD BE A CRIME!

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Almost never

Hand tool durability

I'm putting together a tool kit for my touring bike. I have three artisanal ratchets that I bought from Sears in 1973. This one is smoother and chromed and feels more comfortable in my hand. The head of the ratchet looks like it has fine teeth so it works well with limited movement on the bike.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Great price

Sad example of past glory

first order gears stuck on second use (with 7/32 hex). Replacement requested/received, thanks. Put a ratchet in a tool bag in my tool box that moves daily but doesn't fall off etc. Went to said ratchet and low and lo and behold the end of the forward reverse lever was broken! The ratchet still works and I can change it without much effort. I will never buy a hand ratchet again.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Only lasted 2 projects and then it all fell apart.

This tool only lasted 3 months and then fell apart. I had an urgent need to finish my latest project and took it to Sears for a replacement that was even worse quality than this one. Now I have several bloody blisters on my fingertips because those buttons failed catastrophically. The return date has long passed. If you take care of your hands and the completion of your projects, I would recommend anything but this wrench. This is deeply disappointing.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Do not buy this product. What you will receive is not exactly what is pictured (the model listed on the product I received is correct). More importantly, on first use, after about 30 seconds of use, a few screws come loose - almost no load - the ratchet is locked and the directional switch falls out, followed by other parts. Of course you can get replacements - but there's nothing that would make me think a replacement would be an improvement. Another tale of growing brand tragedies.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • price piggy bank

I hate to admit it, true craftsman tools are a thing of the past. Looks great, feels good in the hand, but something is fundamentally wrong with the ratchet. I've used it maybe 6 times, everything works fine. 2/6 times the ratchet is locked in one direction and the direction change lever cannot be moved. The mechanism is serviceable by two small capscrews on the bezel, but I don't have to service the ratchet every third time. It'll make a pretty nifty crowbar in my toolbox. Don't waste moneyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black
