Great tool. via timing belt tools

VW is notorious for needing special tools for simple jobs. And the toothed belt of the "New" Beetle is no exception. The tool worked great.

A little clunky Best in Engine Tools

It's all too thick for a 2004 Beetle 2.0. I had to remove the hex screw and replace it with a countersunk screw. Now everything is in order!

Works great.

I changed my wife's timing belt about 45,000 miles ago and forgot to check it for stretch. It was necessary, but I didn't have tools to use it in a confined space. When I changed it I had this huge engine mount from the engine bay. For my specific need (with a mount) I had to countersink a hex pan head screw and grind part of the head to reduce the thickness of the tool. After I did that, everything was perfect.
