Donaldson P550833 Water Separator Filter Review

This Industrial and Scientific product did not live up to its expectation. The filtration system was a waste of time and money. The only pro was the ease of installation, but that is not enough to outweigh the major con of its inability to effectively filter out water. Overall, I would not recommend this Hydraulic Filtration system to anyone.

Picture shows metal filter I received a glass filled nylon filter (made in USA), the part number is correct. The package says the new design offers superior dent resistance, water resistance and rust protection. The dose doesn't work! My mechanic said he had problems with the new style filter after installing it. On Duramax trucks.

My truck does not work properly with this filter. I can't imagine I installed it wrong. It wasn't a leak or anything. But the truck acted like it was running out of fuel and gave me engine codes for low rail pressure. I have a c4500 aerial work platform that I used to work on with communication cables.
