Saves a lot of time and hassle.

You can't beat them. Installed on a 2003 Silverado 1/2 Ton. Easy installation. No rubbing or grinding. Fun without having to pull axles! Update: It's been three years now and only a hint of surface rust is showing. I'm in the northeast in the mountains where they really put salt on the road! Very happy with these pads.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not sure

I would have preferred these 2 pieces instead of 1

I've been arguing about getting one piece or two piece screens. I couldn't loosen the bolts with the wrenches I had, so I had to pull the axles anyway. This was good because I discovered a small problem developing within the differential. I really liked the two piece guards as I didn't have to completely disassemble the emergency brake connectors.

Pros
  • Annual Trial
Cons
  • Update Availability

Find the part number you need on the Dorman website

Revane said it won't fit in my car. mfg website said yes. I went off the manufacturer's website and bought it for a 2006 Yukon Denali and it fits. This setup is pretty straightforward, but watching a YouTube video might help for some tips - it's not exactly intuitive how the parking brake actuator fits into the dust cover. There are also a couple of tabs that need to be bent back or they will rub against the rotor and make noise. Much quicker and easier than dragging axles to install one-pieceโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Negative gift

They fit great! The shields do not touch the metal tabs.

I put the shields on my Yukon 02. They fit perfectly! However, note that each shield has 2 tabs that you must press down after installation, otherwise they will touch your rotors and create a very nasty noise! scratching sound. I wish I knew (no instructions, at least I didn't) because it took me a while to figure out what the heck was going on with the rotor because I always thought it was shields! Once press these 2 tabs onto the parking brake base plate on each side. you can go hope thatโ€ฆ

The product corresponds to the description, the metal is thin.

Product as described, metal a bit thin so time will tell how long it lasts (I live in a state with no snow or salt belts). There is a slight learning curve to installing the shield, there are no instructions, I was in a hurry to install the second one and forgot to bend the 2 locking tabs that are on the shield. after assembly and the test drive, we had excessive squeaking in the brake area. This resulted in me taking the tire and brake assembly apart again only to find I forgot to flex theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not the best product

Don't worry it's easier to remove the axle shafts

I read other reviews before buying this. I thought how smart this idea was. WRONG After watching it I had to send it back but hey I'll try. In doing so, I found that it would be easier and better to just pull the half-waves. I did just that and now I have this two piece system that doesn't last as long as the originals. A typical Chinese-made dorman is cheap, flimsy, and doesn't last long. By the way. If you use them, remember to use Loctite and tighten the bolts to spec if you can with theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Saves a lot of time and additional costs!

A lifesaver when you don't want to drag the axles! Skid plates rust very quickly on almost every full size GM truck built in the 2000's. I put off the 2003 suburban swap for a long time, but after messing up the second set of rotors, I knew I had to do it. Was ready to order one piece plus a new differential. Gasket, axle seals and differential fluid when I found them. Still a tricky task as you can't get hit to get the screws out so you'll have to use hand wrenches but certainly better thanโ€ฆ
