Troubleshooting 2014 Impala Limited Traction Control

I have a 2014 Chevrolet Impala Limited that had traction control engage when making left turns at low speeds. After a bit of research, it turned out that the traction control/ABS wiring harness was the likely culprit. I followed the advice of other reviewers and bought better quality butt connectors and heat shrink tubing. Installing it on my machine was pretty easy. I unhook the old wiring harness, undid the old clips, cut the wiring harness in the engine bay and spliced/shrunk it all…

4WD Disabled Issue Fixed

I purchased this part number for both fronts on my 2004 Rendezvous and they fit perfectly. The wire on the left side (driver side) was color to color while on the right side I just connected the wires following the instructions that came with the new wire harness. I also had issues with the new plastic wire clips which were larger than the original ones but after a bit of trimming they managed to fit the holes. Cut them all off before pulling on the tourniquet to make it easier. Haven't had any

A simple solution to numerous ABS and traction control problems.

My 2004 Impala had a combination of an intermittent ABS warning light, a traction control warning light and random traction control light coming on randomly. All of these issues went away after replacing both the driver's and passenger's ABS wheel sensor wires. As other reviewers have pointed out, use higher quality crimp connectors. In addition to marine grade crimp connectors, I also used shrink wrap to keep the connections dry. The project took up most of the morning but included some breaks

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Expensive

09 Impala ABS and Traction Indicator Light

You will need to remove the tire and fender highlighted in blue here. The installation is quite easy. 1) Disconnect the old wiring harness from the wheel hub. 2) Remove the air filter, mass air flow sensor and pipe. 3) Disconnect connector at ABS module. 4) Insert a new wire harness into the wheel hub. into the engine compartment 6) cut the wire 3 inches from the ABS connector and connect it. I took needle nose pliers and squeezed the end of the breech to compress it to make it easier to…

Saved me so much money! It's worth it!

I have a 2009 Impala LT and they worked great. I've taken my car to the mechanic multiple times and they never figured out why my ABS and traction control lights were on. They wanted to replace my wheel bearings and hubs ($$$$$$$) but I decided to try that first. For $20 they fix my car! it was pretty easy to do. The hardest part was removing the plastic hoods from my car to get access to where I wanted to plug them in. then another heat shrink tubing for the entire joint area. When I cut the…

Perfect fit but use your own butt joints

I bought it a few months ago but since I don't have a heated garage I had to wait for the weather to improve to install it. Installed just fine and solved my problem with the ABS and traction control lights on the dash. The only snag I encountered was that the butt joints that came with the harness didn't hold the wires for some reason. I have butt connectors and other connectors in my desktop organizer drawer so I just used my own. I found the clamps were perfectly positioned behind the wheel…

ABS connector and wiring harness

My Traction Control and Service Soon warning light has been going out intermittently for the past year, especially after reversing out of a cornered driveway from the latch up to the castle. I unplugged the lower arm A and cleaned the connectors on both sides and the problems were gone for a couple of weeks. But lately it was happening more often and then the "ABS" light would come on and stay on most of the time. I bought 2 new "Dorman 970-040 ABS" seat belts from Revain for less than $25 each

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other picks

01 Buick Regal LS 3800 V6 Savior!

Perfect size, perfect wire colour! Worked like a charm on my 3800 V6! If you are making a left front tire use 970-040, if you are making a right front tire order 970-041! Dorman hit a home run with the item. I was driving like crazy and couldn't turn on the traction/ABS lights! No more grinding/vibrating discs for me! For those who will replace! Remember that there is much less room on the front left wheel (driver's side). Be sure to check the cables going from the hub to the connector! The…

Worked beautifully

I purchased this hanger with a Dorman 970-041 to replace the one on my 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. I had problems turning the ABS system on and off and wheel vibrations. Both harnesses are essentially the same, but they have the same wire color so you can match the car wires if you buy one of each harness. I didn't check which ones to replace, I just replaced both. They weren't very easy to connect to the car wires with the clips included in the kit, but I used other clips to connect the wires…

  • Great overall performance
