This may work well, but it's CELCIUS without Fahrenheit ONLY

This may work well, but it's CELCIUS without Fahrenheit ONLY. I've been waiting 2 months for this to finally arrive after ordering and it's only Celsius! Pooh.

Pros
  • Has stainless steel construction with a polycarbonate lens and includes a pocket clip probe cap
Cons
  • Some bugs

Works perfectly and the price is lower than many others

I use it to measure the temperature of our mobile home battery in its plastic battery housing. I drilled a hole in the battery compartment so the probe would go in the box and run alongside the battery. The hole size is slightly smaller so the thermometer doesn't move when you move it. I record the temperature in the morning before the sun hits the box and know that together with the battery voltage I can estimate the remaining battery capacity.

Pros
  • Dial size: 25mm; Probe shaft length: 125 mm
Cons
  • Very expensive

Good product, but could it be done better digitally?

I use this thermometer to check the water temperature in the lakes and streams that feed Salt Lake City. It works well and once calibrated it seems to maintain its calibration. It's accurate enough for my purposes and looks pretty solid (I've managed not to drop it yet, so I'm not sure!). The rating of 4 instead of 5 stars is due to my preference for a digital thermometer (Taylor 9842) that I bought at the same time. The price was almost the same, but the digital registered faster, was muchโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Range: 25 to 125ยฐF; Subdivisions: 1ยฐ; Accuracy: 1%
Cons
  • Requires outlet
