Fun Flight in my review

Took a few rounds to get the hang of, but I enjoyed it, and my husband plans to use it as a tavern game in his next D&D campaign. Love the dragon artwork!

Pros
  • 0.028 ounces
Cons
  • No starter deck options available – all cards must be purchased separately

Great Game! for my opinion

I have deeply enjoyed playing this game. I haven't even used it in a D&D game yet but simply played it around the table with friends. It is easy to learn, fun to play, and has immense ongoing play value.

Pros
  • Three-Dragon Ante: Legendary Edition is a re-imagining of the original classic Dungeons & Dragons Three Dragon Ante, a casual standalone card game of chance for two to six players. Game play 20-40 Minutes.
Cons
  • Lacks a clear sense of progression or storyline

Perfect for a D&D warmup!

Really easy to understand. The instructions SOUND complicated, but are easy to understand and refer back to if you need. I especially like the small cards each player can have on hand so the rulebook doesn't need to be checked every time something comes up. Highly recommend it!

Pros
  • Toys & Games
Cons
  • Too niche – not enough mainstream appeal

Great game, but riddled with typos

Really great game! Addictive, fun for all ages but DANG there are so many typos it made me cringe.Get it together! Too much emphasis on combat.

Pros
  • Players ante gold to the stakes and compete to play the strongest flight of three cards, dragons, or mortals. The strongest flight wins that gold, but weaker cards triggers your powers.
Cons
  • Too much emphasis on combat

Legendary edition has 30 additional cards (legandary dragons and mortals) and they're easily included to the main set. Waiting for the oportunity to include TDA to my D&D campaign.

Pros
  • This Legendary Edition includes new Legendary Dragons, Mortals, Gold and Platinum Pieces, and Ability Disks for combining Three-Dragon Ante with the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop game!
Cons
  • Not enough variety in card types

Nice sturdy, high quality cards

Includes both the original game and the King's Gambit expansion, the card quality is excellent. Even better than the original ones! The coin tokens were also a welcome addition, no more having to break out the poker chips to play!

Pros
  • Strategic gameplay
Cons
  • Limited card pools – not enough options for strategic deck building

Good but has typos best in my review

It was a really fun game, but had a lot of typos in it, but that didn't effect the game too much. It just took a little bit of time to find out what the typos meant.

Pros
  • Game is pretty luck based but goes fast. No DnD background necessary
Cons
  • Limited replayability once players have exhausted all the game's card options

Fun Game with or without RP!

I tried the game out with just my wife and I. We played with the Legacy Deck and love it! My friend and I looked over the RP rules and thought they were very cool and would make playing TDA in D&D interesting. We got the chance to play TDA in our D&D game I’m the DM for. I adjusted the Ante costs down to CP instead of GP since it was the first game session and I didn’t want to bankrupt my players. I played it like a Hold’em Table would be played, with the dealers playing against the table. I…

Pros
  • English
Cons
  • Limited accessibility options – not suitable for players with visual impairment

Fun new edition - my new review

I have the previous two editions of this game and they are all great. The color of the back is blue though and can’t be mixed with the older editions. It’s ok because it has a mix of the two older editions as well as new cards. I like the new way to mix in the mortal cards and even has rules to play the first edition version as well as new options to play. The addition of cardboard chits is nice and there thick and thematic to D&D. Nothing like D&D poker night.

Pros
  • BUY THIS GAME!! You won’t regret it. It’s become a game night staple!
Cons
  • Cannot be played online or with friends remotely

Lots of fun, great theme

Easy to teach, a lot of fun. Can run a little long. A betting game that requires almost no bluffing (which my wife cannot do!). The choice between playing a high number to win the pot, or playing a lower number to win the moment is great.

Pros
  • High-quality components and packaging
Cons
  • May take too long to set up and put away, making it a pain to transport

Very fun game: my feedback

Very fun game. We integrated it into our DnD game and totally had a blast. DM gave us 200 extra xp for playing. Thanks for attention!

Pros
  • September 18, 2019
Cons
  • Game may be too complicated for players who prefer simpler games

The game is amazing, but quality could be better

TLDR; the game is 10/10, get it, love it. 4/5 stars because box is designed poorly and you can't close it all the way after punching out tokens.Pros:Seriously, the game is phenomenal. The art is beautiful, and the game is well balanced with plenty of room to adjust to your preferences. The game is played with 70 standard cards that are meant to be included at all times as well as 30 epic cards. The intent is that only 10 of the 30 epic cards are used per game, adding an additional challenge of…

Pros
  • the person the gift was for enjoyed it
Cons
  • Cards are poorly printed and difficult to read

Fun and engaging for everybody

A fun game to play both outside and during a D&D session. Got it on the day me and my friends gather, took me about an hour to understand the rules and have a test run. Everybody enjoyed the session that day: it provided an engaging distraction involving all the players, which is the most important thing for me. The artwork and coins design are beautiful, and it's a fun way to familiarize players with all the kinds of dragons in D&D. Will definitely use it in my Tyranny of Dragons and Waterdeep

Pros
  • great game!
Cons
  • Poor instruction manual – not user-friendly
