Very impressive set of knives for the price. I would highly recommend this set to carvers of all levels. I struggled to keep a head start in my beaver craft kit, which really took the fun out of my hobby. I took this set and had no problems or complaints. They arrived sharp and stayed sharp. Obviously they have been sanded from time to time, the quality is very impressive.

I've wanted this set for years. Finally I understood. blades are good. The handles feel great. I didn't have enough time to spin. I bought that too. My only complaint, aside from how expensive they are, is the knife roll. It's a cheap fabric and it doesn't even roll properly. Too short. Too cheap. Come on Flexcut. This other company makes a reel out of real leather. Given how much you're asking, I expected the same from all of you. mm Such a shame.

These expensive knives are very sharp and easy to cut. BUT the cheap "roll" they are kept in is a horrible, disastrous design. Why would you put your knives in skinny vinyl pouches where only the SHARP BLADES are visible? I accidentally cut my finger with a knife that was next to the one I was trying to pull out of the roll. So the reel went in the trash and I will find another place to store these knives when not in use.

This woodcarving knife set is very good. For the first time in a long while, they came out of the box with proper edges. I find it difficult to please in this area, but these blades cut accurately and withstand a decent amount of force with no issues. The tote bag isn't bad, the handles fit well in pockets and don't fall out when carried. These two planes in the photo are made exclusively with this knife set. I also bought/used a basic flexcut leather strap to keep them sharp. I am a beginner and these are my first two pieces and this is the first and only knife set I have purchased and used (so take this review with a grain of salt). I have a bunch of carving tools, knives are like the #1 tool for woodcarving. Hand chisels and Flexcut knives are great for small jobs and details on larger projects. This set of 4 knives is good for beginners or to add to an existing tool box. They're small enough to be easy to use, and the handles help reduce hand strain. Do yourself a favor and buy a cut resistant glove from the fishing section. And tape your thumb so you can use it to stop.

At first I was very happy with these knives and didn't realize there were better quality knives out there. They came and stayed very sharp. The leather strap makes it easy to keep them sharp. You get 4 knives for $70, or about $18 per knife. The problem is that after 2 months of semi-daily use, one of the blades on the most used knife is now wobbling in the handle and will likely break off at some point.
