There are two things to consider when asking if they work. I will consider both. First of all, this is the basic functionality. Do they work in the sense that all parts work as they should? The answer to this question is yes. Second, they really do serve their intended purpose of attracting and "shooting" insects, and the answer to that question is more complicated, but overall I'm not impressed with how well they do it.
