Garmin Stupid Scale

Initial setup went well. The scale is linked to the Garmin app. That's why I bought a Garmin smart scale so all my readings are automatically uploaded to the app. I use my phone's hotspot (Wi-Fi) to connect. Since initial setup. I had to reset/connect it every time. The ONLY time it connects properly is when my phone is connected to another wifi and sharing it over a hotspot. That means I just paid 3x what a normal digital scale would STILL input by itself. This data is my weight, since there…

Huge mistake for Garmin in this case!

I would like to start by saying that I am an enthusiastic Garmin customer. As a pro athlete, I had loads of watches and bike computers, which is great. I decided to try this scale to keep track of my weight and body fat percentage. Having already used other products in the Garmin family, I was willing to pay a little more, although there are far cheaper options. From the start, the scale was not easy to set up for multiple users. I'm tech savvy, and even being familiar with Garmin Connect…

Scale is ok but terrible connection issues

For basic measurements this scale works fine but that's not why I paid so much money for a smart scale. I have two main criticisms. First, endless connection problems. It requires a 2.4GHz connection and will never be able to maintain that connection. Every few days it refuses to upload measurements. He cannot get out of this state on his own. Calling support will walk you through reconnecting via the app. At some point, the scale refuses to use your WiFi password, claiming it's wrong (it's…

I read many reviews on this scale before receiving it and was afraid I would want to return it. Weeks later I haven't sent it back. First off, if you don't use a Garmin device, don't use Garmin Connect, or don't have WiFi, DO NOT buy this scale. You must be using Garmin Connect on your phone and Wi-Fi to take full advantage of this device. I personally have a Garmin watch and it works great as all my data is visible on Garmin Connect. Difficult to share with other services. Pros: - It's…

Good new product, needs improvement beyond the basics

I am a long time Garmin user and have been doing endurance sports for over 20 years. The scale looks great and feels like a quality device. I had no trouble setting up a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection for myself and connecting my wife's Garmin Connect profile. However, the software associated with this Garmin product has yet to be patched. First of all, the main reason I bought this scale was the automatic logging of my weight, BMI, hydration etc. I love the idea of integrating all my…
