Works well: Temperature & Humidity

I bought this unit to replace a well maintained and carefully used Extech instrument that suddenly broke down. The thermocouple feature is particularly useful. This machine has just the right amount of features for my needs.

Pros
  • Digital thermometer automatically saves last 10 readings for later recall
Cons
  • New Competitors Arrive

I had to send it back as the probe didn't work.

Had to send it back as the sensor didn't work. Things happen so I just wanted to find a replacement. I put it in the case that came with it. It was a very tight fit and the velcro that held the lid closed was about 1 1/2 inches out of place. Where is the quality control? Two hits and it's over. I have chosen another brand to work with.

Pros
  • Type K Thermocouple Measuring range -146 to 2498 degrees Fahrenheit (-99 to 1370 degrees Celsius)
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

My health inspector recommended this type of thermometer with a thermocouple, so I got this one. It can do a lot more than what I need it for (I use it to check the temperature of food), but since it's so important I didn't want to buy too cheaply. That works great. Once you get the hang of it, you'll want to photograph all sorts of objects to see how hot/cold they are. The measured value is displayed immediately and on a large, easy-to-read display. Gives average preliminary readings and you…
