🔌 Gosono PICKit3 Programmer with Universal Programming Seat - Including PIC ICD2 & PICKit 2/3 Programming Adapter (FZ0508) Review

This PicKit 3 clone programmer is great for PIC programming on breadboards. However, I found that to program a 5V PIC I had to use an external 5V power supply on the breadboard and set up the MPLABX so that the programmer was not powering the board.

Used it to flash CatGenius on my cat litter to avoid having to buy proprietary sanitizer cartridges. Worked great for this purpose. A word of warning to others who buy it for this purpose: the new Tray models don't have pins on the programming ports, so be prepared for soldering.

At first the included six pin cable was male on both ends. Turns out you can pull the m/m connector out of either end of the cable to make it m/f. fun, good show. The programmer uses a six-pin cable, hey, got it! The programming station has a 5-pin connector. HM? The documentation for PicKit3 shows that all 6 pins are used. Looks like the space is useless for programming. BIG UPA!

This is a clone as the title suggests. But it connected to mlabx right away, mlabx downloaded and flashed an update for the microcontroller I wanted to program, and it can flash the firmware on every target I've tried with no problems. It seems to work the same as the OEM. I had a real Pickit3 and it would be really hard to choose a clone even if it was next to me.
