Unreliable magnesium tester

This aquarium test kit failed to give accurate readings, making it useless for determining proper supplementation. The compact size and ease of use were appreciated, but the inconsistency of results makes this product a waste of money. As a pet owner, I expect quality and reliability from my pet supplies, and unfortunately, this product did not deliver in that regard.

Pros
  • Accurately measures magnesium levels in seawater, making it easier for reef tank owners to maintain good water quality for their corals and other marine life.
Cons
  • Requires reagents to be purchased separately, which can add to the overall cost of the product over time.

Just doesn't work

I'm really confused why the reputable Hanna company is selling this when it obviously doesn't work? I was skeptical because of the bad reviews but that was a mistake. Luckily I have another set to compare. My actual reading in freshly mixed salt water is around 1300ppm. This tester tells me it's around 1700, or it just flashes 1800, which is its maximum. Absolute waste of time and money.

Overall terrible Product

This has to be Hannah's worst test ever. I have almost all of the Hannah checkers and they all work like a breeze. However, this never shows anything below 1800. No matter how often I test. All of my other parameters read fine on my other controllers, but this one just doesn't give me any real readings. Not to mention the shots they give you don't fit, the tip always falls off no matter how hard you try. I think I only got ONE accurate result and even then I felt I couldn't rely on it because I
