Humidity is always a problem in the Pacific Northwest and I'm happy to report that this unit works great. It's powerful enough to circulate a lot of air through my sailboat, but it's a bit noisy. My boat stays closed over the winter and I can't empty the storage tank every day. I solved the problem by drilling a 5/8 inch hole in the bottom of the reservoir and adding a rubber grommet. This unit is DEFINITELY louder than the smaller IVADM10. I decided to purchase it after reading that it uses the same "quiet Peltier" technology, and I'm disappointed that it sounds at least twice as loud as the smaller unit to me. I ended up returning it and buying a larger (different brand) from Walmart. The fan on this hardly moves any air. I bought this for my workshop which is 10 feet by 12 feet. After a day of continuous use there was only 1/2 inch of water in the tank and my humidity never dropped below 80%. I replaced it with a larger one, poured in half a gallon of water in 8 hours and lowered the humidity to 50% for no reason! Received yesterday so no comments on durability yet. Set up in my grow tent yesterday the temp was 77f 71% RH. After 24 hours the temperature was 75°F and the relative humidity had dropped to 55%. I live in the south so humidity can be an issue, there is about 6 fl oz of water in the tank. For now I think it will be fine for a 2x4, 3x3 or 4x4 grow tent. I live in a basement apartment. My AC window unit won't drain water for some reason, so it gets a little damp in here. I bought it hoping it might help a little and it worked. More than a little.
