Right out of the box the parts are fragile and flexible, they're so thin. The sides attach to the bottom and to each other, but since all the pieces are very thin I had to start by holding the bottom piece perpendicular to the ground and pressing the first side up. Then I rotated the bottom piece to push the next side up and so on. This box is easy to assemble and waterproof. We are puzzled by the many bad reviews regarding missing/poor instructions and lack of water resistance. We now have three boxes of Keter (two smaller than this one) and each has the same bad reviews. Since we read the reviews, we assembled each of these boxes without the instructions. I bought this box hoping that given the price it would be a relatively sturdy hinged lid storage box. What I got was something that's best for holding items that have no weight. such as ultra-light pillows or bubble wrap. First, the underside is so thin that it appears to have been made as thin as possible, but it's not visible through the plastic. It feels like it's thin.
