If you don't have gorilla strength you will need this tool to complete KMC chains; X10SL Gold. The Park Tool MLP-1 Master Link opens/closes the missing KMC link on DA/Ultegra and KMC chains [open only] but does not close the ML on KMC. The reason for this is that KMC chains have a tighter tolerance than Shimano, so the Park Tool will not fit between the links when the ML is closed.

Works great and makes the final step of installing a new chain SO EASY! Much easier than expected! Don't fiddle with regular needle nose pliers or other alternative methods. Emits a very positive "click" when switched on, inspiring absolute confidence. The subsequent riding betrayed nothing but perfection. In addition, it is a reliable and well-made tool. After struggling to open my chain without tools, I ended up ruining my missing link by trying to pry the link with needle nose pliers to open.
