people have problems. Not a product.** Upgrade

Item fits like OEM. The people who had problems and blamed the product had people problems. Its light weight immediately makes Joe Dirty think it's cheap. It's not like this. That's 20 years of advanced plastics. Lighter stronger thinner. The dishes are well made and well shaped. Connections are safe. The video has crisp, bright colors, nighttime is nighttime with taillights illuminating the path. Nothing in color in the dark. Right? In general. treated legally. screws on. true landing. Looks…

Terrible product and worst customer service

This company is very bad when it comes to customer service. I ordered this latch in July and waited until they removed the body jack cab in September. I tried mounting the camera and as other reviews suggest the screw mounts are not reinforced so they are tightened with Chinese plastic. They broke free before being pressed firmly against the truck. Email sent to company awaiting replacement under warranty. In a week I have to pay to send it to them for them to inspect. The photos I posted show…

Not an ideal OEM replacement.

Let me say up front that I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I take my time with all my DIY projects and like to do things right. This pen cannot be obtained exactly right. I bought this item thinking it would look better than a license plate camera and be easy to replace with an OEM grip. Unfortunately, it doesn't sit flush in the tailgate recess. I have about 3/16 inch of metal left on the metal. It's made of cheap plastic, which makes it prone to warping and warping. I'd say there's a 50/50 chance

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Crumpled

Excellent package, good quality

Installed on a 2001 Explorer Sport Trac. Some people may not know that this is actually suitable for all sports track 01-05. The video quality isn't very good, but that's ok. I'm not sure if it's the wiring, connectors, or the actual quality of the camera, but the screen flickers frequently as well. However, it works. I read another review here that said it doesn't fit or something, but it fits me perfectly. If I can swap out the camera for another one, maybe one day I will, but it works well…

Terrible fit! See photo!

It said it would fit a 2005 Ford F-250 so I ordered it. When he showed up, I carefully routed all the cables from the main unit to the tailgate. After installing the grip, the fit was TERRIBLE! There's a big gap around the handle and I can actually see into the trunk. I have contacted the company three times within a few weeks and still have not received a response. I was hoping I just got a bad grip from the bunch and they could just trade it for another, but again no one gets in touch with…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Works but needs to be updated to the latest version

Poor quality. Save your old tailgate grip to use after this thing breaks, or just save time and make a bulletproof grip before installing the camera grip. Take an old solid screw with a metal clip holding the screws together and install it on top of that. Now pry/break individual screws from this new camera tailgate handle (or wait for them to break after installation), drill holes where the screw was made in a plastic mold and install the old one-piece screw mount. Now if you gently tighten…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Overpriced junk. Cheap plastic and bad wheel alignment.

Not quite right. The fillet is too round so it doesn't come out flush. The screws are about a mile away from being usable, making it impossible to align them properly. And there's a bar on the outer edge next to the camera that always prevents it from sitting flush. It's also made out of cheap plastic. If you try to tighten it to avoid it not being flush, the plastic will break. And it just looks cheap. It is flexible and pliable. Unlike the original handle which is nice and ribbed. Basically…

  • So far satisfied

  • Not bad, but...

Works like a charm: Car electronics

Don't be fooled, it's not like you can just 'plug and play', but if you have a stereo receiver that is compatible with a backup camera it's very easy to run cables. You need to remove the back door. (You will need to use a drill or hole punch to make a hole in the underside of the tailgate as there is none by default). After removing the tailgate, drill a hole in the floor and then route the wiring. Make sure to wrap the wire with a loom or something similar so it doesn't cut when it rubs…

  • Absolutely amazing!

The only backup camera worth installing on a Ford F-150 04-08

I didn't want to buy any of these as there were many reviews of this type of secondary tailgate handle with an integrated rear View cameras complain about brittle plastic handles that break easily and are not OEM standard. However, since this seller was offering one with a metal handle, he gave me the confidence to try it. I'm so glad I got it. The metal handle is very durable. The pen looks great and the video quality from the camera is top notch. I was concerned about its performance in the…
