I'm thankful VCRs are still around

I have a DVR but I mostly rely on my VCRs and they work great. Recordings have gotten harder to find, so I usually buy them when I can. I have no complaints about this product. From time to time the cassette tape just won't show up on the VCR I use the most, but (so far) using a different VCR solved the problem. Although the problem is intermittent, it may be related to the VCR and not the tape. In any case, I have no reason not to recommend this product. The price is reasonable and thereโ€ฆ

High quality and reasonable price

This product was delivered in its original packaging as planned. I've been using these cartridges for years and they always work well. But like any analog tape, they stretch and distort over time, requiring periodic replacement. I use these cassettes for time shift recordings and everyday recordings. There are better brands for archival items, but that's none of my business. For me, blank VHS tapes are a consumable item and are great for everyday recordings.

If you have a VHS player it's a great deal

I know that in today's world, instantly viewing or watching a VHS tape is a thing of the past. For example, I still have a VHS/DVD player because many of our children's films are recorded on VHS. I've searched all the stores in my area in Colorado but couldn't find any tapes. Well Revain helped me again and it was a great purchase. These cassettes work great, but you need a VHS player with a built-in antenna or they won't play. They record but when you try to play them they don't play. I had to

Keeping My VCR Alive

I'm not quite in the 21st century yet, but it takes time. I have a DVD player and a new VCR/DVD that records both CDs and tapes. I have been using mainly Maxell for a long time and have never had any problems. Some cassettes are old and I still use/see them. I'm so scared they'll stop making cassettes at any moment, so I'm buying more now. These standard tapes do the job perfectly and are very clear.

Still using VHS on VHS

I know VHS was yesterday but I still have a working VCR so I keep using it. I can use ribbons over and over again. I don't like filling my DVR with recordings, so I transfer some of my recordings to VHS for later viewing. I write a lot because I like watching movies and documentaries when I want, not necessarily when they're on TV.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Easily repairable

Only 6 out of 8 are usable

I know they don't make these anymore so they are old. I have 20 year old cassettes that work better. Maybe they were stored in a hot warehouse and mine was in the air conditioner. They have never been used before, but were probably made a very long time ago. However, it's good to have a few unused tapes to clear your head. With the constant use of old tapes, they spoil heads. I bought 4 packs and they all work so I recommend buying 4 packs. I noticed that this is the default variant and my oldโ€ฆ

Item marked "NEW " - WAS NOT! 4 flaws

I have been ordering this product for over 6 months, once, sometimes twice a month. During that time I had two or three defective cassettes. In this last batch, the cassettes were obviously repackaged (poorly, I'd say) and sealed with tape. I assumed some kind of quality control was going on. Boy was I wrong. 4 out of 8 tapes were defective (the plastic case was crushed in the corner or the cover was broken and in one case the tape came loose from the spool). Our nearest post office is over 5โ€ฆ
