Great waterproof boots

First, I only wear Merrill now. I have very small feet. I wear a 3.5 as a kid and it's hard to find adult shoes in that size. I am very happy to find such a durable boot that is also waterproof. The main advantage is that they are very comfortable and very easy to put on and take off. When this pair wears out I will definitely buy another one! These shoes are also wide so your feet and toes don't flatten out. They will be too wide if you have a narrow foot. The arch is fine as I have fairly…

Pros
  • Un muy buen productyo, recommended cien por ciento. Recibido a tiempo
Cons
  • No impenetrable sons

Not waterproof but comfortable

I took a leap of faith and bought these despite mixed reviews about their water resistance. Unfortunately, they really are NOT waterproof. We live in the Pacific Northwest where October-June means rain and lots of rain. My baby's feet were wet when she wore them twice on rainy days. I'm confused as to how these shoes can be waterproof for some people and not for others, but they definitely weren't waterproof in this rainy climate. On the plus side, they're comfortable, have a good grip, and are

Pros
  • My almost 8 year old loves these boots. They have also performed well in the past.
Cons
  • I bought them for my son. The tip broke on the first mile of the first ride. Don't waste money.

Not waterproof: my review

The shoes fit great. My son loves them but they are not waterproof at all despite the label saying they are waterproof. We picked apples and walked through the dewy grass and his socks got wet. I didn't expect them to survive jumping over puddles, but walking on wet grass shouldn't be a problem.

Pros
  • WATERPROOF: The Merrell Chameleon 7 Mid Waterproof unisex hiking shoes for kids with alternative closure will keep your kid's feet dry during wet and rainy hikes with the waterproof feature.
Cons
  • May not be as stylish as other children's shoes

My baby loves them and they hold up well

They look good and have withstood the abuse from my 8 year old exceptionally well. It can ruin a pair of shoes pretty quickly, but they still look great after a long summer. He regularly chooses these boots instead of sneakers, so they must be comfortable.

Pros
  • Ideal for hiking. Good water-repellent quality.
Cons
  • La información de medida para niños grandes (8–12 years) is incorrect.

My child says they are comfortable

Good walking shoes. My 8 year old wore it hiking for an hour with no problem. It's definitely waterproof, but I don't know if it's actually waterproof yet. So far I would recommend it.

Pros
  • Well suited for children. Light and handy. Good shoes
Cons
  • May be too hot for summer use

The insole is not removable

I called Merrell because I was afraid it was fake. The brand is not printed on the sole of the shoe and is made elsewhere. My kid loves it, needed it fast and can't get it anywhere else so I'm keeping it. Also, the insole cannot be removed to dry, so you may have to put it in front of a fan if it's damp. They also felt a bit stiff but I guess that's to be expected from hiking shoes. So far no problems with daily wear.

Pros
  • My daughter's feet are narrow and seem to give her good support. Looks the same as the picture, seems comfortable
Cons
  • May not be flexible enough for some children

Two thumbs up from a 7 year old

My daughter loves her new hiking boots. She had already tried them on two family trips and was specifically looking for water to walk on. These boots survived and she wants to wear them all the time.

Pros
  • My girl loves her. She has a wide feed, she fits perfectly. But not 100% waterproof.
Cons
  • A small puddle soaked my daughter's socks. She didn't put her feet in the water.

Kids love them the most in my review

The shoes fit well, not too small and not too big. Kids can run on dirt/gravel paths and climb big boulders, so the grip is really good. The shoes are still new so I don't really compromise on durability but even if the shoes wear out quickly I would still buy them again as the quality is great and they protect the kids.

Pros
  • The Merrell Chameleon 7 Mid Alternative Closure unisex waterproof hiking shoes in gray and blue give them a trendy and stylish look that your child will love.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for children with certain medical conditions

Best running shoe

They are good both in cold, damp weather and in summer. Like a tank, they are made of high-quality and partly genuine leather. My kids run around in it all over the place and don't show it. Best Buy of the Year Under $28 Discount.

Pros
  • Had to return the first pair as the laces came out before he put them on. But from there they seem good. I love Merrell's
Cons
  • May not be easy to clean or maintain

Comfortable all day, feet dry.

My son loves these boots they fit as expected and his feet stay dry. Good for rainy days in New England, hiking, playing outside and going to school. FYI they are not snow friendly - not insulated and not high enough to keep snow out of the trunk.

Pros
  • Great quality for the price! Really comfortable and light. My son loved them!
Cons
  • May not be suitable for children with wider feet.

Good shoe but the upper closure wears out quickly

I bought a few pairs for my growing son. They are supportive, waterproof and generally durable. *except* the top closure. This velcro wears out after a few months and other shoelaces in shoes are not designed to hold it in place. Once the cheap piece of plastic that the strap goes through breaks, the shoe is done.

Pros
  • My daughter loves them and uses them for hiking. Would definitely buy again.
Cons
  • May not be as supportive as other hiking shoes

Durable and waterproof

I decided to get my son his first pair of actual hiking boots for our annual mountain hike this year and I'm so glad I went with them! They're heavy and I was a little worried my son would find them too bulky, but he loves them! They are durable and provide good traction on some of the slippery, rocky sections of our hikes. We did a tour of the cave which was VERY wet and they left his feet completely dry even though his jeans got wet. Great purchase, we will get a lot of use out of it! Edit to

Pros
  • Llegaron bien el tamaño deseado. Mui Lindas
Cons
  • May be too narrow for children with wider feet.

Wide toe box, excellent arch support, very light and durable. Very convenient. Would love to see more color options. They change very well in all seasons and have good traction.

Pros
  • We liked them so much that we got the same shoes while our son is growing up. Absolutely waterproof and comfortable
Cons
  • May not provide adequate traction on slippery surfaces.

Definitely NOT waterproof

Update: My son's feet got wet from playing in the wet grass and that was after he sprayed the shoes with waterproof spray. I was pleasantly surprised that the shoes look more purple/less purple in real life. I like closure. The fit is a little snug than I expected, especially after carefully measuring and re-measuring my son's foot using Merrel's sizing chart. A size 13/13.5 will NEVER fit - it's a size 2 and they will grow until the end of the season. I don't know if I can put thick socks in…

Pros
  • Very comfortable, suitable for all terrain and all weather conditions. These shoes are my son's favorites!
Cons
  • May not provide enough ankle support for some children

The ideal tourist is the best in my rating

I was concerned when I bought these boots. We met for a trip to the national park and my son told me his boots didn't fit anymore. I went to my local REI and they didn't have anything in stock. Revain saved the trip! They were delivered the next day. They were so comfortable my son (age 10) ran over 10 miles and made it to the top. In boots that didn't even need to be broken in. This is the second pair of Merrell boots. The quality is excellent. They are comfortable and easy to slide in and out

Pros
  • My son loves her. They are very high quality and look better in person than in the photo.
Cons
  • May not be strong enough for active kids

Great new review

Bought these for my son to wear on camping trips and hikes. He likes them so much that he wears them to school. He's 11 years old and says he feels great on his feet. works for me

Pros
  • My son loves this. Great fit, good quality. I can't wait to go camping with them.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for children with certain foot conditions

No Lace is great but broke after wearing it once!

My son has a problem with laces so I looked for sneakers without laces. The elastic on these shoes broke after 1 day! I somehow managed to tie them up for use during our trip. But 1 day!?! I do not recommend these

Pros
  • My only complaint is that they feel quite heavy, but my son loves them and is very picky about shoes.
Cons
  • Low quality. The elastic broke within the first week of wearing.

Great rating from me

The Merrill is great and as I am taking my grandson on a hike I bought it for him. Fits perfectly and he loves them. Well done and I will always buy Merrill.

Pros
  • Great shoes. Survived two weeks in Iceland and never got wet feet. No blisters. Easy to turn on and off.
Cons
  • Not waterproof

Great for the winter: my rating

My son is 9 years old and hates winter shoes, they are warm and waterproof. He has no trouble putting them on or taking them off and has a great hold. Highly recommended! Oh, it took them a while to get in.

Pros
  • Very waterproof hiking shoe for children. Comfortable and good grip from the first use. Worth the extra coat.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for children with flat feet.

Warm and versatile - my new test report

My son can wear them almost anywhere as they are good in the snow and hiking. They keep his feet warm during outdoor breaks. Very durable, well made.

Pros
  • Really good 👍
Cons
  • Not suitable for running or other high impact activities
