My son got such a cool present. He grew the most amazing crystals. The growing time was about a week. Then we pulled out the amazing crystals and placed them on the LED stand. The stand with LED light that turns it into a night light is the icing on the cake of the finished product. I am a professor of child development and would heartily recommend this to any child as a gift to stimulate their mind and start scientific research! I love it! My son loves it!

He did not like using very hot water, so adult supervision is required. The finished product looks great! The base is a problem though, as the headlights won't work unless the cable 'jiggles', which isn't the best scenario. When I turned the headlights back on today, they became turn signals. Surprisingly good kit! My 8 year old daughter and 3 year old son really enjoyed doing this and seeing the results! We followed the instructions exactly and everything worked great. I didn't have the opportunity to help make all the crystals, but tried one to make sure it worked. In less than twenty-four hours, the crystals formed beautifully! I bought this for my 8 year old son. He wasn't very interested to be honest so I went ahead and showed him the process and he started to think it was cool. He loves the end product. I left it in the shower for a week longer than suggested because our crystals weren't yet out of the water, and once they were I poured out the water and let it dry in the cup for about 2 days.
