slightly dripping faucet repair 4570 Moen

Moen 4570 faucet repair kit Take a rubber wrench to remove the handles. Turn off the water at the faucet. Then use needle nose pliers to loosen the grooved lock nut. Pull out the colored red or blue piece. Use pliers to pull out the old cartridge. Replace in reverse order. The blue and red figures have grooves on the lower cartridge, the position does not matter. Align the red and blue with the handle so it's straight on each side. Lasts every 5 minutes.

It's easy to fix a stripped inner washer nut.

My mother was so tight that it came loose. I used a 1/2" nipple puller and 60 grit sandpaper: cut a small piece of sandpaper 1/2" high and 3/4" long and run it with the grit side against it the wall of the mother into the mother. Insert the extractor to achieve a very tight fit. Use a socket wrench or adjustable wrench and turn counterclockwise to loosen. The mother comes off very easily. Do the same for both sides. I've noticed that the new nuts are cut out and much easier to tighten or loosen

The brass body was thoroughly cleaned with CLR and a wire brush before the new cartridge and nut were fitted. The cartridge was fully installed which in itself was a nightmare , since the fastening tab is at the bottom, so you're working blind. But after it was finally in place I greased the…

Frozen/Cleaned Plastic Bracket Fix Cartridge Nut

Like many others, my Moen cartridge nut was frozen in the faucet body and the head came off when I tried to remove the nut because it's plastic. I even bought a matching nut removal tool, part number 179120. So I took a small wood chisel and carefully snapped off the damaged plastic nut. I also pry up and pry the plastic nut off the internal threads with a small chisel. I tried my best not to damage the internal threads of the faucet. After removing the protective nut, I used a copper wire…
