know what you need.

They've stiffened the front a bit but handle much better than the factory models. 99 F150 has driven a few miles. Choosing the right shock absorber (or strut) is like choosing a shoe. I wear heavy boots so my truck needed a stiffer shock absorber to do what it needed. A truck drives better with a slight overload than with an empty one.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Don't really like it, it's ok

Good quality OEM shocks

Installed them about a day ago and first impressions are they will do the job well. Haven't had a chance to drive off-road yet and I doubt they'll perform as well as the ranchos they replaced, but I've had to focus more on towing and have paired them with shocks to adjust rear load - installed for now.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Something else

Sorry I've waited so long

After installing Sensa Trac suspension boosters on the rear axle and seeing an improvement in the handling of my 2001 F150 4x4 with the new rear shocks, I added Sensa Trac shocks added to the rear axle. front . I have owned my truck for 12 years and this is the first time the shock absorbers have been changed. I'm the guy who waits until it breaks to replace a part. I doubt the new F150 will drive any better than my truck.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • great price

Monroe shock absorbers breathed new life into my Ford F-150!

I fitted these shock absorbers to the front of my 1997 Ford F-150 Supercab, 4WD, Automatic Transmission, 4.6L Engine to tow a new Puma travel trailer I just bought. I also bought a pair of Monroe 58629 Sensa-Trac Load Matched Rear Shocks. Doesn't matter! I've gone through 2 pairs of Rancho shocks with just over 250,000 miles on them. Doesn't matter! Whether in everyday life or off-road, these dampers are for me. (I also bought a Reese weight-distribution hitch to tow a 6500-pound trailer.) I…
