Arrived damaged and in suspicious packaging

I was disappointed in the looks of the Nagoya NA-771 VHF/UHF antenna. The packaging was a simple clear plastic bag loosely wrapped around the antenna. No hallmarks other than a sticker on the pocket. The antenna itself was damaged in two places. It looks like it's somehow melted and the plastic is cracked or pinched. Even the scan mark was smudged. Could this be a fake block? I can't say for sure, but that's not the quality I would expect from a well-known antenna manufacturer. It seems to have

Looks pretty decent, not impressed

I have a couple of Tidradio TD-H5 portable radios. I bought this antenna to try on one of them to see if reception improves. Firstly, it is suitable for this model of radio, but not ideal. The base of the antenna is smaller in diameter than the corresponding hole in the radio. So the antenna is well screwed, but there is a clear gap around the base of the antenna. I was able to soften this up with a few different sized o-rings to "seal" it. As for improving reception, it doesn't seem to be much

Antenna purchased on February 1st, 2021 for use with a previously ordered Yaesu FT3DR. When the radio finally arrived and tried to mount the antenna on the radio, I was surprised to find that this antenna was screwed in with only 1-2 SMA mounting threads. There was a gap of at least 1/8 inch that the included sealing washer didn't fill properly. It was not attached as securely as the Std Yaesu Rubber Duck antenna.
