Description of 🔧 OTC 7248 C-Frame Press: Superior Tool for U-Joints, Brake Anchor Pins, Wheel Studs, and Ball Joints

OTC's C-Frame Press removes and installs automotive universal joints with needle bearings including GM plastic pin CV U-joints. Can also service u-joints found on Dana 60 4WD front drive axles with the addition of an OTC No. 6935 adapter. Handy tool also removes heavy duty truck brake anchor pins, press in wheel studs, and ball joints on most cars and light trucks with press-fit type ball joints. Removes and installs ball joints without the need to remove the control arm from the vehicle, saving time and money. High-grade materials ensure quality performance over the lifetime of the tool.

Great tool, the best of tools and equipment

Tough and made in the USA. Mounting kits for OTC press on Amazon. The otc kit for ford is not available yet, you need to buy the c-frame separately and all attachments separately and directly from otc because they changed the attachments for ford f-series from late 90's to today, not from late from the 90s to 2004 and from 2005 to the present.

Made in the USA Fits ball joint and tie rod tools

Bought this tool to replace the front axle U-joints on my Jeep TJ. The local parts store didn't have one to borrow and the guy didn't even know what I was asking for. A friend wanted me to buy the Harbor version, but I'd rather invest in something high quality made in the USA. The tool was packed in a cardboard box wrapped in thick paper. I was surprised at how strong this thing was when I pulled it out of the box. Clamping part made in the USA, straight on the side. Glad to see it. It was a…

Master of all crosses

Change 4 crosses a year. I have two tracked machines, I circle 9 months a year, constantly revving up and down from 4000 to 6500 in 3rd and 4th gear while constantly dumping mud out of the rear suspension. It only makes sense to use sealed universal joints (they are stronger) and swap them out at the beginning of each season, as dropping the driveshaft onto the redline retaining tab will cause the transmissions and/or differentials to seize. This pup glides over them. Pull it out and reinsert…

A quality tool, no extra "things ", very satisfied!

Bought this press to remove the universal joints on my 1996 XJ Cherokee. MUCH easier than banging around with BFHs and sockets, and it's a lot easier on the ears! I removed the old, rusty caps from the yolk ears with ease! Be sure to lubricate the threads before use and tap the yolk lugs to release tension when turning. This will be part of my trail kit that will never leave the jeep from now on! I especially love the fact that you can buy this press without all the ball joint adapters which I…

High quality, heavy duty tool for machining hard objects

This OTC 7248 tool for pressing the U-joint C-frame, brake anchor pin and ball cage is very heavy for its size and should work just fine. Will not bend, break, warp or break as it is a high quality C-frame press. Used to remove 10 year factory universal joints on both drive shafts on a 2003 Jeep Wrangler TJ 4.0L with 115,000 miles. traveled to Texas and back after 9 winters in Alaska, half of which were in Fairbanks, AK with sub-zero temperatures for this type of factory OEM universal joints…
