Many cars and trucks have rubber blocks supporting their exhaust system hanger brackets. These pliers will enable you to quickly and easily remove those push-through brackets from their hangers. These pliers feature a two position slip joint for use on many sizes of hanger blocks.
Works like a charm. I like that it's durable and strong. I would recommend spraying some WD-40 on the rubber suspension first and it will help a lot. The pictures show the bottom of my car with the stock exhaust pipe removed and the other with the stock exhaust pipe removed.
It's hard to justify the high price of this tool given its simplicity, but now that I have it I can't imagine drawing without it. First spray some PB Blaster on the hangers and it will work like magic. Also, I expect this to last forever so it will continue to make my life easier for years to come.
Works when it fits, but many honda CRV hangers are too tight for this tool. The design is unusual in that the grip must be almost parallel to the metal stud of the suspension rather than straight down, which creates clearance issues in the suspension or exhaust pipes. But this tool is reliably manufactured and is unlikely to break even if used incorrectly.
I have another brand/size of this concept that works for cars and light trucks, but for 3/4 and 1 ton rubber hangers are slightly larger and lighter tools work but don't well like this tool it's bigger and heavier than the other one i have and not that difficult to use with the big rubber isolators. of course it would be nice to have, so i bought it, i tried it to see if it would help in the situation (exhaust pipe on a 2008 1 ton ram) YES, works damn well!
