Description of ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Efficient OTC 7937 Tool for GM Transmission Oil Cooler Line Disconnect

OTC's GM Transmission Oil Cooler Line Disconnect Tool is specially designed for one handed operation in tight spaces. Simply snap the tool over a 1/2 inch diameter line - with slots facing the fitting - then squeeze and insert the tool, rotating it until it engages the fitting - a 1/4 turn releases the line. Designed specifically for use on GM 2WD and 4WD trucks and vans equipped with 4L60E (1993-2012) or 4L80E (1991-2013) transmissions. Also works without modification on many other front or rear wheel drive GM vehicles with at least a 1-1/4 inch clearance between the radiator/transmission and the first bend in the line. This time saving tool eliminates the need to struggle with screwdrivers or picks to release these unique GM lines.

Finally an answer to wasting fixed minutes!

This thing is awesome, works in 3 seconds. Move this plastic cap, snap it onto the cord, twist it a little until you can insert it all the way, apply some pressure on the cord to rotate it and pull the cord at the same time. Pop! Out of. Literally less than a minute. But what are you doing now with all the clips you've accumulated over the years? Maybe make a necklace

The best tool for the job and it's made of metal!

First off, this tool is METAL, NOT PLASTIC. I don't know who said it's plastic, but it's not. Second, they use at GM dealerships to remove this line style. Saving time and getting more billable hours is a game. For the average DIYer, this is a must have tool if you have a GM. No more lost cloverleaf clips. They also fit some Chrysler van transmission lines.

  • Useful for more than its intended purpose

GM engineers need to be hit in the head.

are good so my strings were easy to access for the most part. The tool is quite small to hold and the handle part had to have some sort of handle added to it. However, GM, in its endless stupidity, bent its lines in such a way that the tool didn't fit the two ends of the radiator. I had to purchase another tool for this part called a cutting tool. I was then able to output the remaining lines. a very unpleasant job, but the tool did its job.

Get a tool and gear Pro

I've done a lot of work on our CTS over the past few years but removing the transmission cooling lines from the radiator was impossible without the MFG tool. I spent a lot of money and failed. This tool was as advertised. It matched the GM line as advertised, but the line stuck. 120 miles of non-removal made it impossible to remove the lines. Bad GM design doesn't make the product I bought bad! If you have a high mileage GM, remove the lines with the help of a professional!

Works great, 1 " long

The 1" product worked great for what I wanted to remove the coolant return line from the transmission on my 2000 Pontiac Montana Van. The line going there has a straight line about 4 to 5 inches on the fitting so it was easy to use. This can be difficult in a situation where the line has a sharp bend near the fitting, e.g. B. on a radiator. Just note that you will need about 1-1/4" straight tubing to use this item. It was a little difficult to get through the line, but once it was on it workedโ€ฆ

Worked fine on my 2003 GMC Sierra!

Used on a 2003 GMC Sierra work truck. Transmission 4L60E. There is no physical way for a normal sized person to reach into the available space to disengage the clamp and pull on the transmission cooling lines from the transmission side. (Long pickaxes and holy patience might work from below, but oh my.) Press the tool partway against the part of the cord you can reach and slide it down the cord. I even did a few twists and a 90 degree twist and managed to keep the tool in line. Then make sureโ€ฆ

Rescuer! for fuel line disconnect tool

This little tool helped me remove the transmission cooler pipes from my radiator. Here's what you need to do. Remove the small caps from the radiator coolant lines and then slide them over the coolant line (as if wrapping it around the line) with the notches pointing towards where you will insert the line into the radiator. Pinch the ends and insert where it connects. Spin it and you should see clips. I had to use a clip extractor (also purchased from Revain). Let me tell you that using thisโ€ฆ
