Great SSD upgrade, best in Computers & Accessories category

This SSD upgrade worked for me right away in a 2017 MacBook Air. The instructions could have been a little clearer, but the manufacturer's website had more detailed instructions that I was able to follow. Installation took about 5 minutes, then about an hour to reinstall the OS on a new hard drive and transfer files from the old one. Great experience, would buy again if needed and most definitely. would recommend it to others.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • I don't remember, but there was something

Stopped working in less than 10 days

Installing the OWC 'Upgrade' hard drive was easy following their instructions to clone the original Apple internal hard drive and then install your hard drive provided that Mac OS was High Sierra+, however after 10 days I get a brick with a crossed out circle and I had to reinstall Apple's original OEM. The second generation of OWC's Aura SSD replacement does not appear to be any more reliable than the first generation for Macpro 6.1 (2013).

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

No problem cooler in 13 " rMBP, early 2015

AuraPro x2, 1TB bundle, price of OWC is higher than other brands. But I didn't want to risk compatibility problem with my rMBP since I have OWC- Products know made for Apple computers Blade SSD works fine and cool on Mojave v10.14.5 with NVMExpress 4ch width with TRIM support Although the read/write speed is a bit better (20mps more) than my 4 year old Blade - a 256GB OEM drive This old machine. But I'd rather make it work than use an M.2 adapter with a cheaper M.2 SSD.The thing about this kit…

The overheating problem is best seen in internal SSDs

MacBook Pro Retina 13" Early 2015. I bought this SSD to replace the 128GB hard drive that came with my laptop Installation was easy, just loosen the screws on the cover, disconnect the battery, remove the old SDD and plug in the new one, reconnect the battery and replace the cover and screws. cover again and make sure everything is ok inside and put the cover back on still much hot with minimal use of the macbook the temperature gets very high after the reset the smc seems better but still…

Easy to install and upgrade SSD

I watched a lot of YouTube and OWC videos to find installation guides. It was easy to transfer data from "old" SSD via Time Machine backup. The processing time for 750GB of data was about 24 hours (SSD installation less than 1 hour, data backup and migration 23 hours). Maybe back up and transfer your data before bed. Important note: I was able to use an OWC case with a non-Apple 1TB SSD. See attached photos and videos. The OWC website and Revain product description state that the case will only

SO EASY - Anyone can install this CD!

I was a bit apprehensive about installing a new hard drive in my Macbook Pro but when I saw the OWC website and tutorial video it looked very easy so I decided to give it a try to try. I called Best Buy's Geek Squad to see how much they would charge to put a drive in, just in case. They charged me $95 plus tax to install the drive and then another $95 plus tax to migrate all my data and apps. I have to admit, that was the part that scared me the most - moving all my apps to the new drive. I…

However, many questions.

It took a long time to get this working on my Macbook Pro mid 2014 (A1398). Good news: customer support is excellent! Really great. So far: The drive seems great. Bad news: The external drive (with Envoy Pro) was not recognized by my system. More details (these are the steps that worked in the end but also show problems) 0) High Sierra or higher installed. You must do this or the new disk will not be "understandable" by the old Sierra OS and below. This requires High Sierra (10.13 or later). I…
