Great NAS, fast network, great media server

Update August 11, 2017: I've had this NAS for a little over a month now. I loaded it with 4 WD RED NAS 4TB hard drives and put them all in RAID5. Installing drives and configuring them on the NAS is very simple and straightforward, including RAID configurations. Note. If you want to use similar drives, please note that the specified hard drive size differs from the actual hard drive detected. Disk space (in short, this is due to the difference in how hard drive manufacturers report/measureโ€ฆ

Great NAS, lackluster apps.

This device fits very well as a NAS. I went back and forth in a few days and the solution is simple. If you just want a reliable NAS for storage, this is for you. If you're looking for bells and whistles and don't mind the extra cost, go with QNAP. Pros: * Outstanding build quality. Looks great. Thanks to the magnetized latch on the door, changing discs takes just a few seconds. The plastic disc holders are well made and slide in with a nice click. In fact, this thing is very well designed.*โ€ฆ

You're late to the party, if it's free it's a nice car.

What I use it for: As a file history destination on my Windows 10 machines Works great. The backup images themselves are always bad for some reason. I can remotely view the most important computer files (backups) even if they are not working. As a web server for a small personal website, NoIP.com works great. The NAS upgrade app for NoIP works great. Storing music and video files and serving them to anything including tablets/phones works great, especially for Fire TV (with DLNA client app). As

Works well after updating to the latest firmware

Pros: 1) After installing the latest firmware, it works great as a home server and can act as a RAID 5 device 2) Totally tool-less design. Light weight but seems durable. There was an SD slot and a USB 3.0 port. 3) Costs about half the price of other 4-bay NAS devices. Cons: 1) A Gigabit LAN port. 2) NFS file system access needs to be added from the (very short) list of supported applications (this should already be enabled). 3) Dubbing a USB 3.0 port fully uses 100% CPU, which allows you to do
