Too small for my 2001 CRV

I bought this solely for my CRV. I didn't think 10mm is small. That's my fault but I'm still frustrated so I'll leave this review here.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Little repairability

Manufactured for easy and precise valve actuation.

I *didn't* want to improvise. Work smart, not force. Save yourself the hassle, especially for jobs that require precision. My daughter's CRV works like a top.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Frequency

It works, it's just not as easy as it sounds.

It gets the job done easily once you can see the valves and have a place to use. On the other hand, it's too big to fit in the Honda Pilot's check valves. There you need to use a wrench and a screwdriver instead of a tool.

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons
  • Useless Functions

Best tool for the job

This tool was purchased specifically for valve timing on a 2006 Honda Pilot. This tool made my job a lot easier. I was able to get the job done in half a day and now the engine sounds fantastic. The valves aren't ticking anymore and the engine has over 200,000 miles on it and you can't tell by the sound.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Nothing

Valve Lash Adjustment

I recently replaced the head on my 2004 Civic. On the restored head I had to adjust the valve clearance after installation. This tool was developed to make this work easier. To be honest this tool seems well made, but I found it easier to use a box wrench and a flat head screwdriver. Maybe it would be quicker if I had to be at the shop all day adjusting valve clearances and using this tool more often?

  • Solid Type

Makes valve operation easier

This is not necessary, but makes valve adjustment much easier. I did a CRV without and then did a pilot with it, which speeds things up a lot. I will say that it has only two small disadvantages. The first is the rubber grip. It doesn't seem to stay at the same level when it gets oily, which it will when working with valves. The second small issue is that it's too long in some places on the motor and I had to use a socket and screwdriver separately to get to where it didn't fit.

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Can be retrofitted

Does the job, could be shorter

It was a great tool. The socket is sturdy enough, fits the 10mm nuts snugly and works like a charm. Although I have a few complaints. The rubber grip on what you might think of as part of a wrench slips off very easily. I ended up throwing it away and dipping a wire nail in plastdip, worked great. But that part was annoying until I did it. If I were to suggest improvements to the product, the most significant would be a reduction of only about 25%. Screwdriver, pen, socket. However, it was a…

It could be better. Best in Tools and Equipment

The tooling wasn't great. It was a loose fit on the jam nuts, which made me nervous about the possible rounding of the nuts. In addition, the buyer is paying attention. If you are using this on a Honda V6 engine like the J series engines in the Odyssey, Pilot or Ridgeline it will be difficult to use this tool to adjust the exhaust valves on the rear cylinder head. Due to the position of the head, the exhaust valves are angled down and towards the firewall. The shape of the bulkhead and engine…

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
