Band Saw Blade Doesn't Work Well

Band Saw Blade POWERTEC 13161X 56-1/8" x 3/8" x 6 TPI > I tried this blade. Didn't cut very well. It failed after 20 hits, jammed and bent the blade. Bandsaw POWERTEC 13163X 56-1/8" x 1/8" x 14 TPI Cuts poorly. POWERTEC 13164X 56-1/8" x 3/8" x 18 tpi Band Saw > Same brand and technology as the two saw blades I tried. So left unopened and sent back.

Works well with power tool parts and accessories

It came quickly and fits perfectly. Sharp and clean cuts in the resin blocks I use. However, after it was only used for five small blocks, the weld broke. My previous Delta blade has lasted several years in the same material and with the same performance. Since the saw has been used so little since delivery, the return period has unfortunately expired and I have to dispose of this saw blade. If the weld had lasted longer it would have been a fair bit.

good quality for the price

This blade is quite sharp and fits my saw as expected. It's a tricky size and hard to find in hardware stores around me, so it was nice to find it online. I took a star off the rating because the spot where the blade was welded into the loop was a bit sloppily ground on what I received. It is not yet broken, but at this point is significantly a few thousandths thinner than the rest of the blade and has some deep scratches from a used sharpener.

Sharp and durable Saws, Parts & Accessories

My Bosch saws kept breaking. Last time I was in Low they weren't even my size. Forget Home Depot, their shelves were empty. How do they stay in business? Lowes told me they would receive the blade in two weeks at best. I just laughed See you later, assholes. Thank you Revane for being by our side. I've used the Powertec blade on walnut and cherry and still no signs of fatigue. Blade received within 2 business days. If that keeps me from Lowes, I'll order whatever I can from Revane. Oh, did I…

Weld quality on the band saw blade is questionable

I am a hobby carpenter and hardly ever use a band saw, except for small cuts here and there. I used to buy my band saw blades from a big store but it has been many years since I bought them as my last one lasted many years. When I needed another, my local store ran out of my size, so I figured why not try Amazon. I was thrilled to see the three 1/2 inch wide packs I had long dreamed of. As anyone who knows how to properly set up a bandsaw for a new saw blade, it takes time to adjust the guides,

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Piggy bank price

Fits Sears 8 " Companion Bandsaws

Very pleased with this blade. In the late 1990's I purchased a Sears Companion 8" bandsaw. It was a budget model for those looking for the higher price point couldn't afford it. I think I paid less than $50 for it. It's taken some work over the years to make it better, with parts I've made and labor I've done. Sears, however, had never found a blade of the required length. I had to buy a roll of blades, cut them to length and weld them with a welder at work on a Do-All brand band saw. I have…

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
