does not fit miata 2003

miata 2003. The stem that connects the coil to the plug is about 1/2 inch shorter. I'm inclined to return them if you don't change your mind.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • everything ok

Not suitable for Mazda Miata 2003

Stems too short for Mazda Miata 1.8. It seemed to work for a while, but it wasn't enough. The spark plug does not fit securely.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Does not fit out of the box

Boots are too short. If yours are in good condition, you can easily change them. But they don't fit from the factory, which means they won't work.

Pros
  • Sturdy design
Cons
  • Some disadvantages

Wrong part Best in Parts

Quality was ok but the part going to the spark plug was 3 1/4". They don't reach the spark plug at all. The original part is 4" long. I sent it back and that worked too.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Some minor things

These $28 packages worked great on my 2002 Miata (but used old plug boots). The boots are really shorter but I just swapped them out for the old ones. Very simple - no big deal. If you manage to somehow ruin the boot by removing it, you can buy a new one for $5. In the past (I'm told) reel packs didn't even come with end caps. I'm not an expert either, but I don't recommend using short ones as it seems it can leave behind and cause bugs over time. That brings me to my final piece of advice from

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different

Barely lasted a year

These coil packs have a shorter shank than the original factory ones as you can see in the picture. I read complaints about it before I bought it. Note, don't worry, the shorter shank on them that connects to the spark plug doesn't compromise performance or usefulness in any way. The coil is still firmly and securely connected to the spark plugs. It's a great price for them, they work great and I'm happy with them so far. I'll definitely update if that changes. The picture shows the new…
