Great way to feel the love for 10Gbps

Switched my boring 1Gbps switch in my office to this one. 3 10Gbps ports means my network "backbone" is 10Gbps. This allows you to connect multiple "fast" devices together (main desktop in one location, NAS in another, etc.). Will it make your internet faster? Oh no. Will it make your home network faster? Definitive. Overall, this switch is a good compromise between price and speed. Get multiple 10Gb ports, don't spend $10,000 on a 10Gb switch. It's ugly, but there's literally no other option…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick guide

Great (ugly) switch for a (limited) 10G network

This switch works like a charm. There are only two machines on my network (Desktop and NAS) with 10GBE, so this switch is perfect and allows me to eliminate some of the clutter caused by my old setup (10GBE direct connect, 8-port switch , cables everywhere) to leave room for a second NAS if my digital hoarding continues. Performance is great and I haven't had any connection issues. Defects? Well, the LEDs are bright and green. The device is pretty ugly - in the sense that they clearly tried to…

Pros
  • This is awesome
Cons
  • Some bugs

Not compatible with Intel

Turned out to be incompatible with the Intel fiber card I bought and the copper card I already had. There is no excuse for incompatibility with Intel chipsets. In addition, it is cheaply made. The LED indicators on RJ45 are all other switches. But the SFPs are behind the diffuser and look CHEAP. The case is also unlike any other, and the "prefix” looks like a toy. If it weren't for the fact that no one else would have configured it, I wouldn't have bought it. Qnap makes OK NAS. maybe they…

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • No automatic

Works Network products

I have bought two of these devices. One for my living room and one for my AV gear in the basement because they have two 10G SFP+ ports and are fanless. I am using a Netgear M430024x24f switch as my primary 10G switch and have been running 9/125 fiber in each site and using Netgear compatible adapters (AXM762 10GBASE-LR SFP+) and everything is working. I would use a Netgear switch but they don't make a fanless SFP+ switch and all of their fan enabled devices are too noisy for this type of…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • I am concerned

Quick and easy at home 10G

I was a little worried reading reviews that SFP ports didn't work with some Intel NICs, but mine worked on first try, no setup required. Fanless operation means it's quiet in operation (great for a home office!), and the LEDs are no more distracting than any other switch. be right about the money

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Negative impression
