Mod for installing a lamp Verilux CFML27VLX.

I needed to replace a Verilux CFML27VLX bulb which is slightly different and is around $20 or more. I bought this, cut the end tabs off with trimming scissors and filed the tabs and it fit perfectly and locked in place. Saves about $13 compared to a Verilux bulb, so the 5 minute mod was worth it to me. See the photo after the mod, the bottom photo is the LSE lamp with the strips trimmed and sawed off, the top is the Verilux lamp.

Pros
  • Compatible replacement for #9024B / FML-27-EX-D
Cons
  • Faulty

Happy with this lamp replacement.

We have a Verilux lamp and the original lamp burned out fairly quickly. Instead of paying $25 for a replacement bulb from Verilux, we decided to give this bulb a try based on Revain's good reviews. The lamp looks and works just like the original Verilux lamp, but we hope it lasts a little longer. According to some reviewers, no modifications were required to install the lamp. He fitted in perfectly. Time will tell how long the lamp lasts, but I'll come back to update this review if and when it…

WARNING! This light is not suitable for natural full-spectrum sunlight table lamps! Compared to the original Lights of America bulb, this bulb is oversized. It's the same shape but too big around the edges, the bulb cracked during installation and broke immediately. Garbage. I have two of these lamps and have changed both lamps several times. This bulb does not fit, it is only a few millimeters larger, but big enough that the bulb cracked during installation and broke immediately. Do not buy…

Beautiful, bright and effective for chasing away the winter blues

This lamp is considered a "full spectrum light". Full spectrum light is light with an electromagnetic spectrum from infrared to ultraviolet. These wavelengths are beneficial for plants and animals. Normally, sunlight is considered full spectrum, although technically it can't always be accurate. In fact, there has been some debate as to whether these full-spectrum bulbs actually have more spectrum than cheaper incandescent bulbs. Despite this, these lamps have been used for aquariums…

Working inexpensive bulb for my Sunlight table lamp

This replacement bulb was received for my Sunlight table lamp model #1127 which said it needed this bulb (27W 9024B) that I use next to the bed. A local store that sells replacement bulbs costs more than double what it costs to order online and was sold out when the bulb I got from them burned out after just three months of use. I previously ordered a bulb from Amazon for my other Sunlight table lamp which still works, arrived safely and was cheaper so I'm trying online again. At the moment the
